Bible Box 2.0 has been released. You can run it on any devices with various screen sizes including iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro. It also supports multitasking enhancements on iPad.

Cedars is releasing Word Showers, a fresh approach to studying Korean and English vocabulary.

I’m a Korean language student, but I’ve always had a devil of a time memorizing the vocabulary. It’s hard! When I first started, like any enthusiastic beginner, I bought CDs and tapes to help me in my quest, but there were too many words being thrown at me all at once, and none of the words were strategically connected, but in random order which, to my mind, made them more difficult to retain.

From my own study of Korean vocabulary, I knew I could efficiently memorize ten to twelve words at a time in a period of about 20 minutes, but if I studied over 20 minutes or tried to learn more than 12 words at one session, I found memorization difficult.

So I created Word Showers, which utilizes the concept of vocabulary memorization in blocks of ten.

안녕하세요? 저희 두번째 앱이 나왔어요. 이름하여 워드 샤워!

워드 샤워는 플래쉬 카드로 단어를 암기하여 퀴즈를 통해 스스로 확인할 수 있는 영단어 학습 어플입니다. 한국 사람은 영어 단어를, 외국 사람은 한국어 단어를 기본적으로 학습할 수 있게 되어 있습니다. 물론 설정에서 변경도 가능합니다.

이 어플을 만들게 된 계기는 대학시절 때 Language exchange로 알게된 분과의 인연에서부터 시작되게 되었습니다. 지금은 대학 영어 교수로 재직중이신데요, 한국어를 쉽게 공부하기 위해 사비를 들어 오디오 학습 CD를 자체 제작한 분이였습니다. 더 많은 사람들이 듣게 하려고 홈페이지를 만들고 싶어서 language exchange 광고를 냈었고, 전 그 광고를 보고 홈페이지를 만들면서 영어를 공짜로 배울 수 있었습니다. 그래서 만들어진 홈페이지는 그분이 가르치는 학생들에게도 인기가 있었구요, 특히나 한국에서 한국어를 배우는 외국 분들께 매우 인기있는 컨텐츠였습니다.

이번에 App의 형태로 제작을 하게 되어, 플래쉬 카드로 보면서 학습할 수 있게 하였고 잘 기억하고 있는지 확인할 수 있는 퀴즈 모드도 추가하였습니다. 사용해 보시고 피드백 주시면 감사 드리겠습니다 ^^
