우리 퀸즐랜드 사무실은 독서실 방문객이 기록을 스스로 디지털화 할 수 있는 흥미로운 시도를 시험해 왔습니다.
국민들이 기록검색(RecordSearch)을 위해 이미지를 마련하도록 셀프 디지털화 지침서가 구축되었습니다. 국민들은 USB에 이미지를 복사할 수 있는데, 이는 디지털화된 양질의 기록 복사본을 제공할 뿐만 아니라 전반적인 기록물 디지털화에 기여할 수 있습니다.
지금까지 국민들이 스캔한 가장 대중적인 기록물은 이민과 송환 기록이며, 지금까지 약 3,000페이지 정도 디지털화 되었습니다.

Our Queensland Office has been trialling an exciting initiative, enabling reading room visitors to digitise records themselves!

A self-service digitisation workstation has been set up with instructions for the public to prepare images for RecordSearch. Researchers can then take a copy of the images with them on USB, providing them with a high-quality digitised record copy while also contributing to the overall digitisation of our collection.

The most popular records to be scanned so far are migration and repatriation records, and to date the trial has seen nearly 3000 pages digitised by the public.

빡빡 문지르세요, 욕조 안에 책이 있어요!
어제 도서 보존 연구소 직원은 도서를 세척하느라 너무 바빴습니다. 주의 깊게 종이를 세척함으로써, 시간이 지남에 따라 생성되는 불순물을 제거하는 것을 돕습니다. 우리는 욕조 안에 종이를 폴리에스테르 천으로 지지합니다(대부분의 종이는 습기가 없기 때문). 그리고 이 욕조에는 자체적으로 탈염수(탈이온수)가 들어있는 쟁반이 있습니다. 욕조에 약 20-30분 동안 담가놓고, 종이가 마르기까지 최소 하루가 걸립니다.

Scrub-a-dub-dub, it's a book in a tub! 💧🛁💧

Yesterday, staff in the Book Conservation Lab were busy washing a book. When done carefully paper can be washed, which helps clear out degradation products that have built up over time. We support the paper in the bath with a polyester fabric (because most paper has poor wet strength). And the bath itself is deionized water held in a tray. The bath last for 20-30 minutes and it usually takes at least a day to dry the paper.

자세히 보세요! 우리 도서 보존 연구소는 Leica M651 현미경을 항상 필요로 하지는 않지만, 필요할 때는 매우 유용하게 사용됩니다.

때때로 아래 현미경을 사용하여 아주 작은 수리를 하는 데에 도움이 되고 있습니다. 이런 경우에 우리는 해당 기록물이 원본인지 아니면 사본인지를 판별합니다. 이것이 사본이라는 것을 빠르고 손쉽게 결정할 수 있다는 것은 정말 굉장한 일입니다!

Scope it out! Our Book Conservation Lab doesn't always need a Leica M651 microscope, but when they do it's invaluable.

Sometimes we use it to aid us in making very tiny repairs. In this case we were checking if this document was an original or a copy. It is a copy and it is fantastic to be able to determine that quickly and easily!
