Raonsecure wins 'DEFCON CTF 26' international hacking defense contest

- Raonsecure’s Raon White Hat Center’s Lee Jong-ho captains South Korean team DEFKOR00T to victory in the world’s biggest hacking tournament.

Lee Jong-ho, head of Raonsecure’s Raon White Hat Center, has once more claimed victory by leading the Korean national team (DEFKOR00T team), to victory at DEFCON CTF 26, the premiere international hacking defense contest held in Las Vegas August 9-12.

'DEFCON CTF' is one of the most prestigious international hacking defense competitions in the world. Raonsecure first led the Korean team to the championship in 2015, defeating the top US team, PPP, that year. Lee had already captained the Raon White Hat Center’s team to victory earlier this year, by winning at the hacking defense contest, 'CodeGate 2018', held in Korea in April.

By winning CTF 26, the DEFKOR00T team secures the right to automatically qualify for DEFCON CTF 27, which will be held in August, 2019.

Lee Jong-ho, who has won three major international hacking competitions, is studying core technology of security intelligence against the latest security threats at Raon White Hat Center. Recently, he has been officially named 'Cyber Guardian' in recognition of his efforts to prevent cyberattacks and contributions such as security vulnerability reports for the Korea Internet Security Agency (KISA). It has been conducting activities such as checking cyber threats for major projects and shoring up identified vulnerabilities.
