Looking for a Junior IT Administrator
Position Overview: The Junior IT Administrator provides technical support and assistance to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems and infrastructure within an organization. They work under the guidance of IT Infrastructure Lead, and play a crucial role in resolving user issues, maintaining hardware and software, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the IT department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. User Support: Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues. Respond to user inquiries, troubleshoot problems, and resolve technical difficulties in a timely manner.
2. Clients Support: Support client inquiries, troubleshoot, and fix accordingly. Report to direct manager and escalate if needed.
3. Hardware and Software Maintenance: Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, servers, peripherals, and software applications. Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, backups, patching, and antivirus scans.
4. Network Support: Assist in managing and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and wireless access points. Help users with network connectivity issues and ensure proper network security measures are in place.
5. User Account Management: Assist in managing user accounts, including creating new accounts, modifying permissions, and resetting passwords. Ensure compliance with security policies and maintain user directories.
6. IT Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining an inventory of IT assets, including computers, peripherals, and software licenses. Track hardware and software assets, conduct periodic audits, and assist in procurement processes.
7. Backup and Recovery: Contribute to data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical information. Assist in performing regular backups, verifying data integrity, and participating in disaster recovery efforts if needed.
8. Technical Documentation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including system configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Good knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications
• Familiarity with network fundamentals and troubleshooting
• Familiar with Firewalls Configuration (preferable FortiGate)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
