Hello and Ayubowan ๐ŸŒฟ
Iโ€™m Anuradha Sandeepika, the eye and heart behind LLV โ€“ Lens Light Visuals โ€” a mindful journey through photography, nature, and light. Through LLV, I create calm and

soulful visuals that explore the quiet beauty of the world โ€” from the stillness of a mountain sunrise to the light caught in a dragonflyโ€™s wings, to the sacred silence of Sri Lankaโ€™s ancient temples. Each image is created to offer peace, presence, and connection โ€” a visual pause in a busy world. If my work brings you a moment of quiet or a breath of beauty, then I have done what I set out to do. Thank you for walking gently through this journey with me.

Before I pressed the shutter ๐Ÿ“ท

I had been watching the morning light slowly weave through the vibrant lily pads, surrounded by the quiet, settling hum of the marsh. This elegant Grey Heron was perched on a fallen log, completely motionless amidst a sea of green water hyacinths. For what felt like an eternity, we shared a long, silent pause, both of us simply existing in the stillness of the water.

The moment: It shifted its weight ever so slightly, locking its sharp gaze on the ripples beneath, entirely focused and poised in perfect, mindful balance.

What I learned: True connection with nature doesn't come from forcing a moment, but from learning how to be quiet enough to let the beauty of the wild unfold around you.

Iโ€™ll never forget the gentle warmth of the early sun reflecting off the quiet water, bringing the rich colours of the wetland to life.

๐Ÿ“ธ Lesser Whistling Duck of the Day | Bokundara, Sri Lanka

I spotted this gentle Lesser Whistling Duck while sitting quietly by the water's edge at the Bokundara , just watching the morning light reflect off the ripples.

3 quick facts:

Behavior: They are incredibly vocal and are named for the distinctive, high-pitched, two-note whistling calls they make while flying in flocks.

Habitat: Flourishes in shallow freshwater wetlands, quiet lakes, and lily-covered ponds across the island.

Did you know?: Unlike most other ducks, they have special toes that allow them to easily grip branches, meaning they are perfectly comfortable roosting high up in trees!

Shot with my trusty telephoto setup at early morning. No crop, no bait, just patience.

๐Ÿ“ธ Great Egret of the Week | Bokundara , Sri Lanka

I spotted this Great Egret while observing the morning ripples along the quiet edges of the Karadiyana, Bokundara . It stood so perfectly still, it felt as though time itself had paused to let the world breathe.

3 quick facts:

Behavior: They are the ultimate practitioners of stillness, often standing motionless in shallow water for long periods before a sudden, precise strike at their prey.

Habitat: These elegant birds are a common sight across Sri Lankaโ€™s wetlands, marshes, and the tranquil edges of our many lakes.

Did you know?: During the breeding season, they grow long, lacy plumes called "aigrettes." These feathers were once so prizes for fashion that the species was nearly hunted to extinction!

Shot with my 70-300mm at 7:15 AM. No crop, no bait, just patience.

Before I pressed the shutter ๐Ÿ“ท

I was standing by the edge of a quiet wetland here in Sri Lanka, completely captivated by this endless carpet of vibrant purple and green. There was no rush, no sudden movements to anticipateโ€”just the slow, steady rhythm of the morning unfolding. I wanted to frame the sheer abundance of it all, letting the repeating patterns of the water hyacinths fill the entire view in perfect silence.

The moment: The morning light suddenly shifted, casting a rich glow that made the delicate purple petals pop against the sea of deep emerald leaves.

What I learned: Sometimes, the most powerful moments in nature aren't about isolating a single subject, but embracing the quiet, overwhelming beauty of its collective harmony.

Iโ€™ll never forget the gentle, earthy scent of the fresh wetland water mingling with the morning breeze.

๐Ÿ“ธ Pheasant-tailed Jacana of the Week | Western Province, Sri Lanka

I spotted this Pheasant-tailed Jacana while observing the quiet life across the local wetlands at sunrise.

3 quick facts:

Behavior: Known as "lily-trotters," they use their incredibly long toes to distribute their weight, allowing them to walk across floating vegetation without sinking.

Habitat: Found throughout the low-country freshwater wetlands, marshes, and lotus ponds of Sri Lanka.

Did you know?: This species practices polyandry; the female is larger and may mate with multiple males, leaving the "stay-at-home" dads to incubate the eggs and raise the chicks!

Shot with 70-300mm lens at early morning. No crop, no bait, just patience.
