Google Updates Chrome to Protect Against Quantum Apocalypse....

Google has updated its Chrome web browser to include support for post-quantum cryptography. This is a type of encryption that is designed to be resistant to attack by quantum computers.

The quantum apocalypse is a hypothetical event in which quantum computers become powerful enough to break the encryption that protects our data. This could have a devastating impact on our security, as it would allow hackers to access our personal information, financial data, and government secrets.

Google's update to Chrome is a significant step towards protecting our data from the quantum apocalypse. It is the first major web browser to include support for post-quantum cryptography.

The update includes support for two post-quantum cryptographic algorithms: X25519 and Kyber768. These algorithms are still under development, but they are considered to be the most secure post-quantum cryptographic algorithms available today.

Google's update to Chrome is a positive step towards protecting our data from the quantum apocalypse. However, it is important to remember that this is just one step in a long journey. We will need to continue to develop new post-quantum cryptographic algorithms and deploy them in our systems in order to stay ahead of the threat.
