Sri Lanka is moving towards e-Invoicing

The IRD has already started a National e-Invoicing pilot where VAT invoice information can be transmitted directly from ERP systems to RAMIS through a Web API.
This means businesses will need more than a correctly printed invoice. Customer TINs, VAT settings, invoice numbering, credit notes and transaction records must also be accurate inside the system.

How do you set off a customer credit against an outstanding invoice in QuickBooks Online?

Instead of recording a new payment, you can apply the available Credit Note (Credit Memo) directly to the customer's unpaid invoice.

Steps:
✅ Open + New → Receive Payment
✅ Select the customer
✅ Tick the outstanding invoice
✅ Tick the available credit under Credits
✅ Save the transaction

That's it! The customer's balance will be reduced without affecting your bank account.
