CodeChem is a software development company, founded in 2015 and located in Skopje.

Our story
We started out as 7 people with only one thing in mind, to become proficient in building mobile apps and websites. We weren’t traditionally hiring, but we opened our doors to amazing like-minded people who strived for excellence.

By 2021 the company grew to +45 people hiring some of the best talents and worked successfully to put this talent into an environment that nourishes profes

sionalism, a high degree of technology exploration, and applying the most sound SDLC practices in the industry. We have evolved a lot along the way, but one thing has stayed the same, the strive for excellence.

In a world of technologies, platforms, and frameworks expansion our main goal is to find the right balance between exploitation and exploration of our knowledge. The main reason CodeChem was founded was exactly this, to try and apply a working model where every individual will consider their job as:

- Lifelong learning;

- An art of creating the most elegant solutions to the problems they are faced with;

- Help their peers to achieve these ideals.

The way we work

We work transparently, we have regular knowledge sharing sessions, code reviews, and daily stand-ups means all the team members are well aligned and no one needs to reinvent the wheel when it comes to implementing a similar feature to already existing ones. We can count on shared knowledge and expertise from the rest of our team working on other projects.

120 participants, very busy offices, many mentors and organizers, and enough coffee to keep everything moving. ☕

Open Day 2026 was one of our biggest editions so far, bringing together a full day of technical challenges, teamwork, questions, snacks, burgers, and people helping each other through the hard parts.

What made this year especially meaningful was seeing many of our colleagues return as mentors after once being Open Day participants themselves. They were there to guide the next candidates, answer questions, and help them take their first steps.

Since this was likely our last Open Day at Rimska 25 before moving into our new offices, the day felt like a fitting way to close this chapter. It was a little chaotic, very human, and exactly what Open Day has always been about. ❤️

Our eighth Open Day was held this Saturday, and let us say, it went great, and all of you made the day! 💻✨

For the first time, we introduced challenges beyond software and embedded software engineering, with participants also taking on QA automation engineering and UX/UI design challenges. The day started with the usual crowd on the street around our office, with Sinatra specialty coffee keeping everyone awake and ready for what was ahead.☕

After the tech presentations, participants got to work on the challenges, building, testing, designing, debugging, deploying, and wrapping everything up with the help of their teammates and mentors. Once the challenges were finished, we ended the day in our front yard with burgers from Jojo’s, some beer, and really good conversations. 🍔🍻

From the first moment to the last second, everything was carefully organized, so this thank you goes to everyone who made this day possible, everyone who helped during the event, and everyone who joined us. 🙌

Besides getting to know us, learning something new, and building or designing something awesome during the day, some of you will soon start your internship and a future career with us, and we cannot wait to welcome you. 🚀🤗

To everyone who participated, thank you for showing up, giving it your best, and making this Open Day feel so special.🥰 💚 Whether your career with us starts now or takes a different path, we truly hope you left with something valuable! 💎

Although we had the biggest and most important event of the year yesterday, we still showed up this morning for the beautiful and the most organized race HalkEco 🏃‍♀️🏃and somehow survived 10 km carried mostly by the belief that the finish line would eventually appear 😅. Some of us were fighting for survival, while others were out there running for fun like it was a casual morning walk. 🔥

As you can see from this post, after the race we went for coffee ☕, took some pics 📸, and spent the next few minutes talking about how amazing the race was.💫💫💫✨🙌 Thanks to everyone who supported us, especially Alek Dimitriev who we spotted cheering from one of the bus stations like a true legend!!! 🚏👏 🤗🤗 We appreciate this so much! 🙌

Congrats to everyone who finished, now go rest your legs, pretend you’re never running again, and see you at the next race! 🫶🏅😅🏃🏃‍♀️🤝

For the second year in a row, we went back to take on the heights of Shtip again. Some of us ran 5km, while others pushed for 10km, using their strength to finish with great timing and pace. After the race, Melania, Toshe, and Damjan, since it is their hometown, took us to get caffeinated ☕ before we returned the calories with traditional Shtipska pastrmajlija 🍽️. We were so hungry that after we finished eating, we turned into investigators 🕵️‍♂️, counting the heels of the pastrmajlija and reconstructing the scene just to figure out how many there were in total. We never reached a final number, as the table was already wiped clean. 🤔🧐

We also had support from people who didn’t run but came to motivate us and cheer for us, which we really appreciate. 🙌❤️ 💜 We always have fun at events like this, and it’s great to see how people push themselves and their limits. Melania didn’t try to straighten the streets from last year, although she promised she would, so Superior Runs once again lived up to its name. 😂

Congrats to everyone who showed up and finished the race. Next year we’re promising we’re not running…and we’ll probably still end up on the list again!🏅 🏃‍♂️‍➡️ 🏃‍♀️ 💪
