🌍 SMS fraud isn't one problem. It's three.

Smishing in high-GDP markets. SIM swap where carrier verification is weakest. AIT where aggregator economics get exploited.

Same dashboard. Same delivery report. Completely different defenses.

That's why "global routing" should be a technical claim. Not a marketing one. 🛡️

📱 We rebuilt a marketing SMS we've seen variations of a hundred times. Same shape, same mistakes, same erosion of trust.

Fintech SMS is one of the hardest categories to do well. The trust bar is already high, the inbox is already suspicious of financial messages, and every word has to earn its place.

This one doesn't.

The "pre-approved" hook used to work in 2018. By 2026 it reads as scam-adjacent regardless of which bank sent it. "Hi Customer" tells the recipient you have their data and chose not to use it. The shortened URL is the same shape as the phishing link they got yesterday.

🎯 SMS doesn't fail because the channel is broken. It fails because the writing is.

🔒 Google and Apple rolled out end-to-end encryption for RCS chats between Android and iPhone users yesterday. Good news for consumers. Smaller news for business messaging than the headlines suggest.

The encryption covers person-to-person conversations. It doesn't extend to RCS Business Messaging, A2P SMS, OTP delivery, or marketing campaigns. Different channels, different security model.

🎯 What's worth paying attention to is the direction. Encryption becoming the consumer default raises customer expectations across every channel they touch. The trust bar for business messaging keeps rising, even when the news isn't about you.
