Linux Help Mauritius

Linux Help Mauritius This is a support site for LINUX (a free and much better OS than Windows), how to change from Windows to LINUX, use LINUX and common problems with LINUX.

Test LINUX now on your PC without installing it! We are not able to support Apple/Mac issues. Since nearly 10 years I switched my PC from Windows to Linux. The last drop which pushed me away from Windows was when it was no more possible (at least for a short time) to determine a connection as clocked, to save internet cost. I had emtel at that time, which was the worst internet connection experien

ces I ever had (even worse then my 28.8 modem end of the 90s). Having to attend some webinars at that time, it was impossible to do this with emtel, so I connected via my orange connection (my.t) on the phone. Lucky when Windows then started to force a system update on you which sucked out the balance on my phone. Additionally you had to run and search for all single software updates yourself, download and install them. With Linux life got much easier and better and not so costly. Software updates are centralized in a global update center in your operation system. So a software update is available there once it is compatible with your Linux version. Speaking of software, nearly everything you have in Windows, you will find also in Linux. Maybe a bit different (GIMP instead of Photoshop), another name but mostly can use the same document types you know from Windows (for example Libre Office can handle .docx or .xlsx and so on). Linux is no more this techy system you might heard of in the late 1990 - early 2000, which could only be installed by specialists. You can even run it from a USB to test it on your PC without damaging your Windows installation. Once you are happy how it is and works, you can start to ditch your Windows and install Linux. (BUT MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR PERSONAL DOCUMENTS AND DATA ON WINDOWS BACKED UP FIRST!)
If you want to know more, let me know. If you want to donate your old PC for a school or a kid I can help to swap it to Linux first. So the children have the possibility to freely use different software and learn the most with it. (Please not that the donated PC should NOT be older than Windows 7, I installed it also over a Windows Vista but haven't been able to test this enough)
