The cloud conversation is changing. As organisations combine public cloud, sovereign cloud, on-premises infrastructure, edge computing and AI, the challenge is no longer simply accessing more platforms. It’s bringing increasingly diverse environments together as a connected ecosystem.

The question is no longer just which cloud to choose. It’s where each workload should run to deliver the right balance of resilience, performance, security and business value.

That’s where multi-cloud becomes more than a technology strategy. It becomes an operating model for managing complexity without sacrificing flexibility or control.

In this article, Vinay Hiralall, Chief Commercial Officer at C2Africa, explores what this shift means for organisations building their next digital chapter.

Digital infrastructure only delivers its full value when people have the skills to use it.

Five years ago, Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa opened our Innovation and Digital Skills Centre in Mthatha with a simple ambition: help more South Africans build careers in the digital economy.

Today, 515 learners have completed training, 149 have secured employment, and countless others are building the skills needed for careers in cloud, cyber security, networking and data.

These outcomes are only possible through strong partnerships between industry, government and education. Together, we're creating pathways into meaningful employment while helping build the digital talent Africa's future depends on.

As more business-critical workloads move to the cloud, network performance becomes a competitive advantage.

C2Africa has achieved Gold status in Google's Verified Peering Provider programme, making us the most widely peered Gold VPP partner in Africa.

That means enterprises can access Google services through a stronger, more direct network - reducing latency, improving reliability and delivering more consistent performance for Google Cloud, Google Workspace and AI workloads.

It's another step in building the digital infrastructure that helps African businesses compete globally.

Digital talent is everywhere. Opportunity should be too.

That is why Liquid Intelligent Technologies South Africa has partnered with Microsoft and South Africa's Department of Communications and Digital Technologies to launch a Mobile Digital Lab at the Royal Bafokeng Institute in the North West.

As the digital economy continues to evolve, access to skills, connectivity and technology is becoming a critical driver of economic participation. Yet too many talented young people remain excluded by geography and infrastructure constraints.

By bringing digital learning directly into communities, the Mobile Digital Lab helps expand access to in-demand skills in areas such as AI, digital productivity and software development, creating new pathways into the modern economy.

The initiative builds on the success of our Mthatha Innovation Digital Skills Centre, which has already helped hundreds of learners gain certifications and secure employment opportunities.

Recognition is earned through consistency.

We are proud to see our team in Zanzibar recognised with both the Best Service Provider and Best Company awards at the 2026 Zanzibar Bureau of Standards Awards.

These awards reflect something larger than a single achievement. They recognise the commitment of the team to delivering reliable services, maintaining high operational standards and putting customers at the centre of everything they do.

As digital connectivity becomes increasingly important to economic growth and opportunity, trust matters more than ever. Recognition from one of Zanzibar's leading standards bodies is a testament to the impact our colleagues continue to make in the communities and markets they serve.

Congratulations to the entire team on this well-deserved achievement.

Digital economies are built by people before they are powered by technology.

That is why Liquid Intelligent Technologies Zimbabwe has signed an MOU with the Government of Zimbabwe to establish and operate a Software Developer Skills Development Hub designed to help prepare the next generation of digital talent.

As AI, cloud computing, cyber security and data-driven services reshape industries around the world, countries that invest in digital skills today will be best positioned to create, innovate and compete tomorrow.

Through this partnership, we will help expand access to world-class training, mentorship and practical learning opportunities, supporting Zimbabwe's ambition to build a digitally driven, knowledge-based economy.

Because meaningful digital transformation requires more than technology. It requires the skills to create it.

Digital resilience is becoming a competitive advantage.

As organisations accelerate digital transformation, the question is no longer whether to adopt cloud and cyber security solutions, but how securely that transformation is built.

That is why Liquid Intelligent Technologies is expanding access to cloud and cyber security services in Botswana, powered by Secure360 - our integrated framework designed to help organisations move from reactive security to proactive resilience.

Over the last decade, we have built more than 1,174km of fibre infrastructure across Botswana, helping strengthen the country’s role as a regional digital hub. Now, we are building on that foundation with enterprise-grade digital capabilities designed for the AI era.

Because the future will belong to organisations that are not only connected, but secure, resilient and ready to scale.

A strong signal of confidence in Africa’s digital infrastructure.

We’ve closed a $660M financing round, including a $300M Eurobond 2.5x oversubscribed in a highly selective market.

This milestone allows us to:
✅ Strengthen our balance sheet
✅ Extend our maturity profile
✅ Accelerate investment in growth

It also reflects the scale of what we’ve built; a 115,000 km fibre network across 25+ countries, supporting connectivity, cloud, cyber security and AI infrastructure.

As our CEO, Hardy Pemhiwa, says, this is not just a financial milestone, but a strategic one. And we’re just getting started.
