The Kuiper Belt stretches in a doughnut shape, comprising icy bodies that extend well past Neptune's orbit. Among its inhabitants are Pluto and Arrokoth, both explored by NASA's New Horizons spacecraft. It's believed that millions of other icy worlds in the Kuiper Belt remain from the solar system's early formation. These worlds are referred to by scientists as Kuiper Belt objects (KBOs) or trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs), denoting objects whose orbits lie beyond Neptune in our solar system.
