Sabah Net is here at the HEART & HOME of !

Congratulations Sabah Creative Economy and Innovation Centre for the launching of their official home@headquarters at KKIP Sepanggar! The event was officiated by Yang Berbahagia, Tuan Zainudin bin Aman, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Sabah. With this, SCENIC can move full speed ahead in executing their programmes via these THREE (3) pillars - creative industry, technology and innovation, and startup development. We can't wait to hear about what they have planned for all of us soon!

Last night, we celebrated the amazing journey ahead for Ms. Viviantie Sarjuni's (General Manager, SCENIC) with Yang Berbahagia, Tuan Zainudin bin Aman, the Permanent secretary of KSTI, gracefully officiating the event.

Little did she know that we had a little surprise for her - we have prepared a short video on her journey as a leader in the industry! And yes, our little mission was a success!

It was a teary night for everyone, both sad and happy at the same time. One year will surely feel like a long one.. We will miss you , hurry and come back to Sabah okay!

Yesterday, Sabah Net was invited to join a sharing session organised by SCENIC at the Ministry of Science,Technology and Innovation Sabah Office building. The speaker, Ms. Jill Finlayson, the Director of Expanding Diversity and Gender in Tech (EDGE Tech), shared her experiences and knowledge in mentorship and leadership, amongst other interesting topics. We attended a small Farewell Party for Ms. Viviantie's big journey to the United Kingdom (UK). Yes, she will be leaving the country soon. Some may not know but she was recently chosen to be one of the Chevening Scholars to continue Master's Degree study at the UK and these scholars are fully funded on a scholarship! What an achievement! We are truly sad about her leaving us for a year but we are really proud to have such a strong and smart leader on this road to a better Sabah. We pray nothing but the very best for her! Please do not forget us unyil and come back fast!

Sabah Net has attended the Malaysia Digital Dialogue Sabah held at Sabah International Convention Centre on 20 August 2022. The event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Senator Puan Noraini Binti Idris on behalf of Yang Berhormat Datuk Haji Yakub Khan, the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Sabah.

Aside from the exchanges of MOU, the event programme was packed with various sharing sessions by amazing speakers from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporations (MDEC); Ms. Carol Fung, Ms. Nur Izyan Rahim, Ms. Rozita Ismail, and Mr. Jayaraman Subramanian. Also, a speaker from Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC); Mr. Nelson Chan, and one speaker from International English Centre (IEC); Ms. Jasmine Leong.

After lunch, the participants were invited to visit the breakout rooms whereby each room highlighted a unique topic relating to digital business and entrepreneurship. The event was concluded with a sharing session on success stories from local entrepreneurs and a digital dialogue session on Malaysia Digital & Saya Digital Programme.

This programme has definitely provided positive encouragement for the participants, especially among business owners to be open with digitalisation and accepting this trend in business settings.

Sabah Net was invited by Google Workspace to join along the courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Sabah, Yang Berbahagia Tuan Zainudin bin Aman, at Headquarters, Kota Kinabalu on 19th August 2022. The next day after the wonderful Acer Celebration night, our CEO (Mr.Chin Kah Yi) and Network Team Lead (Mr.David Chan) paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Chan Weng Hong (General Manager for Sales, Product & Marketing, Acer Sales & Services Sdn. Bhd) and Mr. Soon Peng Sin (General Manager of Highpoint Service Network Sdn. Bhd.) while taking the opportunity to tour the Acer warehouse.

It was definitely a memorable and meaningful 2-day visit as we get to understand their business operation and most importantly, explore business partnership and opportunities in Sabah.
