FINAL RESULT
The Fight That Mattered
We may not have made it through the group stage. We knew the group was tough, and after two defeats, our chances of progressing were already out of our hands. But we refused to let that be the reason we stopped fighting.
In our final game against Negeri Sembilan, we stepped onto the field with nothing to lose and everything to give.
At the 30th minute, we earned a penalty corner, and our captain, Najwa Azaman, stepped up and found the back of the net ,, putting Johor ahead. A moment made even more special by a senior player who has carried the Johor jersey through three SUKMA editions — 2022, 2024 and 2026.
We held onto the lead until the 55th minute. Throughout the game, we broke down attack after attack from Negeri Sembilan, stood strong as one unit and continued to fight under constant pressure from a team considered one of the favourites to win SUKMA , with a squad filled with national players.
Unfortunately, Negeri Sembilan eventually found the equaliser.
1–1.
The game ended 1–1.
Maybe the result wasn’t the ending we wanted. Maybe our journey in this SUKMA ends here. But we walked off the field knowing that we had given everything we had , together, as one team.
We played with heart. We fought until the final whistle. We refused to give up, even when we knew what was at stake.
This tournament taught us a lot. We learned from our mistakes, accepted our weaknesses, and faced our shortcomings together.
We may not have made it further this time, but this is not where our growth ends.
We learn. We accept. We improve. We come back stronger.
Thank you to everyone who believed in us, stood behind us and supported us through every moment.
Johor, this one was for you. ❤️💙
