Hearing a lot these days about 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐆𝐩𝐭. It is catching up fast, and this seems to be the future.
This made me think about the technological evolution we have been through in just the last 10 years. More so, how we have adapted to change, transitioning from cable phones to learning how to create an email id, then using smartphones, Skype, video meetings, Zoom, and what not. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐚 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐮𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.
𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞.
Not just in technology but in every sphere. Leaders must always be alert to the changing times and keep adapting. Strategies that worked just 2-3 years back no longer work. Even the strategy does not work for another similar situation. And, to handle people management challenges, leaders need to adapt and innovate with every situation. Handbooks, rules, and regulations also need to adapt to changing times and situations.
Adaption is a very important quality of leadership. Along with being alert to changing situations, leaders must also enhance their learning to keep abreast with the changing times and improve their knowledge base.
