The wrong time to plan data recovery is after someone asks: “Can we get that file back?”

The better questions should be asked earlier.
- What data should be protected?
- How often should it be backed up?
- Who is authorized to restore it?
- How quickly does the business need it back?
- Which workloads matter most to daily operations?

These questions are not only technical. They affect business continuity, accountability, and how quickly teams can respond when critical data is deleted, overwritten, or needed for review.

Retention policies, recycle bins, and user-side workarounds may help in some situations, but they are not the same as a dedicated backup and recovery strategy.

Craftsmanship teaches us more than how things are made. It shows how patience, skill, and care can turn raw material into something meaningful.

As part of our ongoing support for GOLD (Generating Opportunities for Learning Disabled), a Malaysian non-profit organisation and social enterprise supporting young adults with special needs, TECH3 supported a visit to the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, where participants had the chance to experience Malaysian craftsmanship up close.

At the School of Hard Knocks workshop, they crafted their own pewter dishes with guidance from professional instructors, getting hands-on, trying something new, and seeing their efforts take shape.

We loved seeing the finished pieces! But what mattered even more was the experience behind them. We hope the visit gave participants the confidence to try something new, connect with others, and create new memories together.
