📢 Payroll Reminder: SOCSO Changes Starting June 2026

If you’re processing June payroll soon, here’s an important update to take note of.

Starting June 2026, employees will see higher SOCSO deductions following the implementation of Lindung 24 Jam (Skim Kemalangan Bukan Bencana Kerja), which provides 24-hour worldwide coverage for non-work-related accidents.

What does this mean?

• Employees will have an additional contribution under the new scheme
• The contribution is fully borne by employees, while employers are responsible for submission
• Payroll settings and contribution tables may need updating before processing June payroll

For Phase 1 (June 2026 – May 2028), an additional 0.75% contribution will apply.

For employees below 60 years old:
Current employee contribution: 0.5%
New employee contribution: 1.25% total

For employees aged 60 and above:
Previously no employee deduction
Starting June 2026: 0.75% contribution applies

Before running payroll, remember to:

✓ Update payroll software if required
✓ Verify employee deductions
✓ Review payroll reports before final submission
