As 2025 gradually wraps up, it stands out as a defining year of growth, learning, and impact for us at and at the heart of it was the Civic Innovation & Technology for Development Summit (CiTechSummit2025).
2025 reminded us that bold ideas, when pursued with courage and collaboration, can become powerful movements. What began as a vision to create a platform for civic innovation evolved into a two-day summit that brought together over 500 participants, 30 speakers, innovators, policymakers, and youth leaders from across Africa. Together, we explored how AI, digital tools, and innovation can strengthen democracy, rebuild public trust, and deepen youth participation especially as we look toward the Road to 2027.
was more than an event; it was a statement. A statement that young people are ready to lead beyond tokenism. A statement that inclusion matters with strong participation from women and persons with disabilities. And a statement that technology, when used responsibly, can be a force for accountability and good governance.
As the year comes to a close, we carry forward the lessons, partnerships, and momentum sparked by the summit. 2025 may be ending, but the work it ignited continues in our communities, our policies, and our collective commitment to building a more open, inclusive, and digitally empowered Africa.
The summit may be over, but the movement has only just begun.
