This is to inform the general public that the temporary portrait of the CGI previously in circulation is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect. Consequently, all Stakeholders and the public are to, by this notice, replace any existing reference to the temporary portrait with the newly unveiled and official one, from this day, 29th April, 2024.

In addition, a soft copy of the official portrait will be sent to all Commands and Formations. However, there is a need to adhere strictly to specifications that will be attached to the said soft copy for uniformity.

News flash..
On Friday 19th April,The Minister of Interior Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo with the CG of immigration and other top ranking officers of the service inspected the ongoing installation of electronic gates (e-Gates) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, which is about 90% to completion.

According to Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo this advanced border management system, will be installed in other international airports including Lagos, Kano, Enugu, and Port Harcourt airports, further reaffirms his commitment to giving Nigerians a sweet experience.

He said the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) will continue to invest into the enhancement of national security through the deployment of technology in line with global best practices.

*EU EXPERTS VISIT THE CGIS TODAY*

Today, April 17, 2024, the CGIS, Kemi Nanna Nandap, pcc, mmis, fsm, met with the experts on EU- funded regional programmes
led by Louis Blondiau
and Thierry Thimon. During the meeting, leader of the team explained that their focus is on: 'Addressing' issues relating to 'Trafficking Corridors and Hubs in West Africa and other Neighbouring Countries.'

Ten (10) coastal African countries, including Nigeria, will enjoy funding programmes in this regard, the team elaborated.

The CG, in her response, commended the EU for previous project interventions and support, stressed the need for regional cooperation as well as thanked the EU team. She assured them of the service's continued collaboration and cooperation in the area of border management.
