Today, we are celebrating International Girls in ICT Day and reaffirming our commitment to advancing opportunities for girls and young women in the digital economy. 💜

At Wootlab, we have consistently been driving digital skills, AI literacy, innovation, and technology leadership among girls and young women. From coding workshops to mentorship programmes, we have been equipping girls with the tools, skills, and confidence to lead in technology and beyond.

Through initiatives such as the RevUp Accelerator, the ATC Digital Communities programme driving AI and digital technologies, and many other interventions, we have continued empowering girls and young women to innovate, build, and thrive.

This year, as we mark International Girls in ICT Day under the theme “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,” we are celebrating the girls already transforming communities through technology and inspiring many more to see themselves as creators, problem-solvers, and future leaders in the digital age.

Because when girls are accessing technology, they are accessing opportunity. And when girls are shaping digital futures, communities are advancing.

Happy International Girls in ICT Day!

12 weeks. Countless hours of learning, unlearning, and building.
One stage. Limitless possibilities.

The RevUp Women Initiative Abuja Demo Day marked the culmination of an incredible journey, bringing together bold women entrepreneurs who have spent the past weeks refining their businesses, strengthening their capacity, and preparing for growth and investment opportunities.

From over 1,500 applications received, 70 participants were shortlisted to take part in the programme. Following a competitive pre-demo pitch session, the top 10 women were selected to pitch at the Demo Day, where they showcased their progress and business potential before a panel of judges. The event featured 10 powerful pitches from these outstanding women-led businesses, highlighting their resilience, innovation, and growth over the course of the programme.

In addition, the RevUp Women participants have also been officially certified, marking a significant milestone in their journey and recognising their commitment to growth and excellence.

It was a powerful reminder that when women are equipped with the right tools, support, and community, transformation truly happens.

A huge congratulations to our Top Performers and grant recipients:

Every powerful journey starts with a pause.
Over the past few weeks, something meaningful has been unfolding through the RevUp Women Initiative, an enterprise development program designed to accelerate early-stage, women-led businesses in the agribusiness and e-commerce sectors through tailored support, capacity building, and access to a thriving pan-African innovation ecosystem.
This initiative is a project of AfriLabs, implemented in partnership with Wootlab Innovations, and supported by the Visa Foundation. But before strategy, scaling, or expansion, we started with reflection. In Week 1, our focus was on Diagnostics & Audit, covering:
Program orientation
Goal setting
Self-appraisal
Business appraisal
Because real growth doesn’t begin with noise, it begins with clarity. Founders asked themselves the hard questions:
What am I building?
Why am I building it?
Is my business structured for where I want to go?
The conversations were honest, the reflections were deep, and the foundation was set. Now Here’s the truth: whether you’re part of this program or not, when last did you pause to truly audit your goals, your systems, and yourself?
Take a moment today, Reflect, Reset, Realign.
This is the RevUp Women Series.

What a full-circle moment at Nile University of Nigeria this week. 🚀

We had the privilege of serving as a judge at the Alumni Startup Competition 2.0 – Live Pitch Day. It was genuinely inspiring to watch 11 brilliant founders take the stage, pitching bold ideas, scalable businesses, and solutions to real problems.

What made the moment even more meaningful for us at Wootlab Innovations was the journey behind it.

In 2024, we had the opportunity to partner with Nile University on their incubator program, where our team delivered sessions on:

• Unlocking the innovative potential of startups
• Design thinking and problem-driven product development
• Pitch deck development and pitch coaching

Working with the incubator founders during those sessions was energising. We saw ideas take shape, watched founders refine their thinking, and helped them translate their vision into compelling stories investors could understand.

So sitting in that room as a judge and seeing Nile alumni confidently pitching their ventures felt like witnessing the next chapter of that journey.

This is exactly why strong university–ecosystem partnerships matter. When institutions create platforms for innovation and organisations collaborate to support entrepreneurs, the results are powerful. The energy in that room made one thing clear: Africa’s next generation of founders is already building the future.

Proud that Wootlab Innovations could play a small role in that journey.

In Nigeria, countless women have brilliant business ideas, but limited access to funding, mentorship, and digital skills often holds them back. These barriers make it difficult to grow, scale, or compete in today’s market.

On 10th December 2025, over 35 determined women entrepreneurs took a bold first step at the RevUp Women Initiative onboarding session, hosted at Wootlab Innovations’ office in Abuja. The initiative is a project of AfriLabs (), implemented in partnership with Wootlab Innovations and supported by the Visa Foundation.

The onboarding session marked the official launch of the programme, which will feature a 12-week capacity-building journey starting in January. The programme will be delivered primarily through physical sessions at the Wootlab Innovations office. The RevUp Women Initiative aims to empower 150 women-led agribusiness and e-commerce ventures across Lagos, Abia State, and the FCT, with a total of $24,000 in funding available to support six outstanding ventures.

During the onboarding, participants explored the RevUp Afrique AI platform, connected with peers, and prepared to engage in strategic planning, financial management, digital transformation, and inclusive business practices. Wootlab Innovations provides the learning infrastructure, mentorship, and seamless programme management, ensuring participants have the tools and guidance needed to thrive.

This onboarding session was more than an event; it was a launchpad for turning challenges into opportunities, equipping Nigerian women entrepreneurs with the confidence, skills, and support to innovate, scale, and lead.

We are thrilled to announce that Wootlab Innovations has been officially selected as one of the Implementing Partners for the impactful RevUp Women Initiative, an initiative spearheaded by Afrilabs (), and supported by Visa Foundation (). This significant partnership underscores our commitment to fostering enterprise development and supporting local innovation. The RevUp Women Programme is designed to tackle key challenges faced by female entrepreneurs, limited mentorship, business development support, and access to funding.

Through structured capacity-building sessions, targeted mentorship, and AI-powered business support via the Women Afrique platform, participants will gain the strategic tools they need to scale and sustain their ventures. This project will feature women leading high-growth businesses in E-commerce and Agri-business, and over the 12-week hybrid programme, they will receive tailored training, continuous growth monitoring, and preparation for the final showcase event.

We are pleased to confirm that the onboarding session for the selected participants for this initiative will take place on Wednesday, 10th December 2025. This event marks the official start of a transformative enterprise development journey for 50 women-led businesses in Abuja.

During onboarding, participants will be guided through the programme roadmap, expectations, mentorship structure, engagement guidelines, and available opportunities, including access to competitive grants for outstanding businesses. This onboarding marks the beginning of a high-impact journey that will strengthen women-led enterprises, foster innovation, and support job creation across Nigeria. AfriLabs and Wootlab Innovations remain committed to delivering a truly transformative experience. We look forward to beginning this collaboration and contributing to the success of the RevUp Women Initiative participants.
