The United States is increasingly deploying autonomous drones to restore forests devastated by wildfires by firing biodegradable seed pods directly into burned landscapes. The technology enables reforestation of steep mountains, remote terrain, and hazardous areas where traditional tree planting is slow, expensive, or unsafe.
Modern reforestation drones can plant tens of thousands of seed pods in a single day, dramatically accelerating ecosystem recovery. With wildfires burning millions of acres across North America each year, drone-assisted restoration is emerging as one of the most promising tools for rebuilding forests, capturing carbon, and protecting biodiversity.
