ABBA KYARI
Abba Kyari is the current Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari and was appointed to the position on 27 August 2015.
He is an indigent of Borno state-Nigeria.
He is a close friend and some said class mate to Mr. Hakeem Belo-Osagie who is a Nigerian businessman who was also listed by Forbes Magazine as the forty-first richest man in Africa in the year 2014. It is together with Osagie that they worked as Managing Director and Chairman of the United Bank for Africa and helped the Nigerian economy in many ways since the 1990s till early 2000s.
Abba Kyari is a man with a great reputation for discipline and accountability. He is also known for having a very strong work ethic and believes in the fact that hard work pays. There is not much information out there about Abba Kyari because he loves to keep his life private, but he is a very hard working who believes in principles and ethics governing his works as earlier said.
ABBA Kyari is a simple, level headed , intelligent and a religious person.
EDUCATION HISTORY :
Abba Kyari graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Warwick, England in 1980.He also possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, England and was called to the Nigerian Bar after attending the Nigerian Law School in 1983.In 1984, he obtained a master's degree in law from the University of Cambridge. He later attended the International Institute for Management Development at Lausanne, Switzerland and participated in the Program for Management Development at the Harvard Business School,USA in the years 1992 and 1994.
CAREER HISTORY:
Abba Kyari worked for the law firm Fani-Kayode and Sowemimo for some time after his return to Nigeria. From 1988 to 1990, he was Editor with the New Africa Holdings Limited Kaduna. In 1990 he served as Commissioner for Forestry and Animal Resources in Borno State. From 1990 to 1995, Kyari was Secretary to the Board of African International Bank Limited. Abba Kyari was Executive Director, Management Services, United Bank for Africa Plc. (UBA) and was later appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Bank. He was appointed a Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc. in 2002 and is a Director of Exxon Mobil Nigeria. He is a recipient of the Nigerian Honor Award of Officer of the Order of the Niger (O.O.N).
In the year 1999 his name was shotlisted to be picked as vice president of President Obasanjo along side Alhaji Ibrahim Bunu,Professor Jibril Aminu,Mallam Adamu Ciroma and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who later emerged succesfully. Before his name was shortlisted for this very high position of a Vice president federal republic of Nigeria, many people never knew him and were shocked and suprised to hear his name coming up for this position and yet they were impresed & still surprised with the level of his very rich CV or profile they got to know for the very first time.
