Dear All,
In line with our policy to support our staff and enhance efficiency, we are extending selected training and development tips starting from this month of August to you. We will be sending tips that can help you plan your day, increase job performance, conduct proper work ethics, boost a healthy lifestyle and most of all to help you interact well with colleagues/superiors.
For starters, here are some tips that can help increase your productivity every day:
1. Plan and prioritize.
Create a daily schedule and stick to it. Be punctual and do not postpone. Determine what projects and tasks are critical, urgent and create the largest value and benefit to the organization. Select what you can easily postpone and what you can delegate without diminishing your results. Utilize a personal organizer system to the fullest extent. Remember that every goal must be time bound and achievable.
2. Avoid distractions and Manage Every Minute.
Focus is a key trait of productive professionals; distractions are the bane of productivity. People spend more than five hours a day surfing the internet just for fun, Social Media can wait. Manage meeting time wisely, whether you are attending or conducting a meeting, never walk out of the room without a clear plan for a next step. Always have a prepared agenda with points of action and deadlines if you are leading a meeting. As an attendee, ask questions and leave with personal tasks to advance the plan presented.
3. Develop new habits.
Develop the habit of leaving your work space neat at the end of each day. Arriving in the morning to a clean desk sets the stage for productivity. Try to allocate some time every day to read, refine skills and learn something new about your work. Take notes and share your knowledge whenever possible; this way you are learning more actively and also building a reputation, establishing expertise for yourself.
4. Simply listen.
Whether within your team or to your Supervisor, you need to listen regularly and often. They will provide you with first-hand insights into your performance and alert you to their preferences so you can better meet demand. You may be able to amplify your productivity substantially by better understanding and honing in on actual consumer expectations and learning to anticipate their needs by just listening.
5. Put your heart in it.
Passion is one of the single most important drivers of success. If your heart and soul aren’t in what you are doing, you are likely not putting your best effort forward. Do some soul-searching and find out what it will take to make you love what you do and perform to the very best of your abilities. Make sure your values are being reflected and respected in what you do and that you see true meaning in your work.
6. Stay healthy.
Good health and an acceptable work-life balance lead to better productivity. A recent poll conducted reveals that professionals are keen on maintaining a healthy work-life balance. In fact, 26.9% of polled professionals believe that their poor work-life balance has jeopardized both their mental health and happiness, and a staggering 64.8% of them would even accept a pay cut to have more free time on their job. Take "you time" break by planning vacation days and outings away from work. Having a stress-free event on the horizon provides something to look forward to at the end of several weeks of hard work. Relaxing and rejuvenating away from the office can improve job.
We wish you a fruitful month of August.
Thank you.
