Sirius Aviation has introduced the SiriusJet, the world’s first hydrogen-powered luxury VTOL aircraft, notable for its low refueling cost of just $500.

The aircraft, designed for minimal noise and environmental impact, operates nearly silently and emits 90% less noise than helicopters.

It features an advanced airframe parachute system for safety, deploying automatically during emergencies.

With a range of 1150 miles and a cruise speed of 323 mph, the three-seater jet combines helicopter-like vertical takeoff and landing with airplane speed, launching commercially in 2025.

Elon Musk’s Starlink satellites, part of a growing internet satellite network, are reportedly posing a threat to Earth’s ozone layer, according to researchers at the University of Southern California.

Published in Geophysical Research Letters, their study highlights concerns that these satellites release significant amounts of aluminium oxide into the atmosphere upon reentry, potentially accelerating ozone depletion.

The ozone layer shields us from harmful UV radiation, critical for preventing skin cancer and safeguarding agricultural productivity.

With over 8,000 satellites in low-earth orbit, this issue underscores growing environmental and space debris concerns.

TDK, a Japanese electronics corporation, claims a breakthrough in solid-state battery technology that could enable iPhones to last 100 hours on a single charge. This new battery tech also benefits wireless headphones and smartwatches.

The solid-state batteries, featuring an oxide-based solid electrolyte and lithium alloy anodes, offer an energy density of 1,000 watt-hours per liter, vastly outperforming current batteries.

Despite challenges in scaling for larger devices like cars, TDK aims for early commercialization, promising safer, lighter, and potentially cheaper batteries.

In a novel approach to clean energy generation, Valencia, Spain is transforming cemeteries into solar power stations.

The “Requiem in Power” (RIP) project aims to establish the largest urban solar farm in the country by installing panels on rooftops within city cemeteries.

When complete, the project will generate over 440,000 kilowatts of energy and save 140 tons of carbon emissions every year.

This innovative strategy utilizes existing space, avoiding the need to convert agricultural land, while still generating substantial clean energy.

Nvidia’s CEO, Jensen Huang, announced the next-generation AI chip platform, Rubin, to be launched in 2026.

Revealed at the Computex trade show in Taipei, the Rubin platform will feature new graphics (GPU), central processors (CPU), and networking chips.

The new CPU, Versa, and GPUs will incorporate high-bandwidth memory from SK Hynix, Micron, and Samsung.

Nvidia plans to release new AI chip families annually, a shift from its previous two-year cycle. Currently, Nvidia dominates around 80% of the AI chip market.
