GWALE LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN FLAGS OFF POLIO IMMUNIZATION CAMPAIGN IN GWALE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (DORAYI WARD)

The Executive Chairman of Gwale Local Government, Hon. Abubakar Mu’azu Mojo, has officially flagged off the Polio Immunization Campaign today, Monday, March 30, 2026, in Dorayi Ward of Gwale Local Government Area.

This initiative forms part of the government’s continued efforts to safeguard children against the devastating effects of polio, a disease that poses a serious threat to the health and future of young children. During the event, the Chairman emphasized the importance of immunization and urged parents and guardians to ensure their children receive the vaccine.

The Chairman was accompanied by key government officials, including the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Isyaku Sani Kulo, alongside other aides, demonstrating strong governmental commitment to the success of the campaign.

Also present at the occasion was the Children and Students Leader of Gwale Local Government, Comr.Waleeth Adam Bako, who reaffirmed the support of youths and students towards the initiative. He called on young people to actively participate in raising awareness within their communities on the importance of immunization.

The Chairman Hon Abubakar Mojo, further reiterated his administration’s dedication to improving healthcare services and promoting the well-being of residents, particularly children, as part of building a healthier and more prosperous society.

Members of the public are strongly encouraged to support and participate in the Polio Immunization Campaign to ensure a polio-free community and a healthier future for all children.

URGENT CALL ON KANO STATE GOVERNMENT OVER DANGEROUS TRAILER PARKING ALONG SINGA MARKET ROAD

The VOICE OF GWALE LOCAL GOVERNMENT PEOPLES ASSOCIATION is calling on the Executive Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and all relevant authorities to urgently intervene in the alarming situation affecting residents of Fagge and beyond.

There is a serious and growing threat caused by indiscriminate parking of heavy-duty trailers along the access road to Singa Market, stretching from Isyaka Rabiu Roundabout to the Roundabout near the Fagge Local Government Secretariat. This situation has led to severe traffic congestion and poses a high risk of road accidents, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of property.

The problem continues to escalate daily, affecting commuters, traders, and residents, thereby endangering public safety and disrupting economic activities in the area.

In light of this, the Association strongly calls for:
• Immediate prohibition of indiscriminate trailer parking along the affected route.
• Designation of proper parking areas for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Deployment of traffic control and security personnel to enforce compliance.
• Swift and decisive action to prevent further loss of lives and property.

We urge the Kano State Government and all concerned agencies to treat this matter with utmost urgency and seriousness in order to safeguard the lives and livelihoods of the people.

The time to act is now before the situation worsens further.

The Voice Of Gwale Lg Peoples Association (VOGPA) expresses deep concern and disappointment over the failure of the Kano State Hisbah Board and other relevant authorities to effectively enforce the state government's directives banning Kauyawa Day celebrations and the playing of obscene music during wedding events.

Despite clear instructions from the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, such immoral activities continue to thrive in various parts of the state, thereby undermining the moral fabric and values of our society.

We call on:
- Hon. Abba Al-Mustapha, DG Ministry of Censorship,
- Malam Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, Commander-General, Hisbah Board,
- and all relevant law enforcement agencies,

to rise to their responsibilities and ensure full compliance with the ban, as part of collective efforts to protect the dignity, decency, and moral upbringing of the good people of Kano State.
