2023 JAMB: Six Important Things to Note As UTME Registration Starts Soon
JAMB Registration will commence on 14th January 2023 while the UTME (examination) will start on 24th April 2023. See everything you need to know before the registration starts.
Below is a summary of everything you need to know before the registration commence:
1. NIN Is Mandatory

According to the JAMB, candidates interested in registering for the 2023 UTME must supply their National Identity Number (NIN) to complete the process.

2. Registration Date And Centres

The JAMB 2023 UTME registration portal will open from 14th January to 14th February 2023. There may not be an extension for the sales of the registration form, buy it as soon as you can.
JAMB Registration must be at the Approved JAMB CBT Centers.
3. Optional Mock And UTME Exam Dates

The mock examination which is optional for candidates will be conducted on the 16th of March 2023. While the 2023 UTME (main exam) is billed to hold from ​Saturday, 29th April to Saturday, 12th May, 2023.
“The venue of the examination will be at any of the centres in the candidate’s chosen examination town,” the examination body, added.
4. Registration Fee

The registration fee for the 2023 application documents is N3,500 and N500 for the recommended Reading Text (novel). Budget atleast 5,000 for other charges and transport fare
5. JAMB Recommended Novel

As of the time of updating this page, the JAMB Recommended Novel hasn’t been announced yet. If they should use that of 2022, then it will be “The Life Changer” by Khadija Abubakar Jali.
6. Generating JAMB Profile Codes

All JAMB candidate MUST use their phone number to get their JAMB Profile Code for the UTME registration.
The phone number can be used by one candidate only. CANDIDATES SHOULD NOTE AND ALWAYS REMEMBER THE NUMBER USED, IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE FOR SUBSEQUENT COMMUNICATION WITH THE BOARD.
The 2023 JAMB Candidates can now start generating their profile codes through the procedure below.
Candidate should send his/her National Identification Number (NIN) by text (SMS) to 55019 or 66019 from his/her phone number e.g write the word “NIN” then space and add your 11-digit NIN Number and send to 55019 or 66019 in this format (NIN 00123456789).
There should be a space between the word “NIN” and your 11-digit NIN (Note that the number must not have been used by another person to register for UTME/DE in the past).
A Profile Code of 10 characters will be sent to the candidate on the same phone number
The phone number used for the text message is automatically tied to the candidate’s 2023 application, Examination, and Admission.
After getting the profile code, what next?

Candidate will present the profile code at the point of obtaining the JAMB form (Banks, MMOs, MFBs, Switches, USSD Partners).
An ePIN will then be sent as a text message to the candidate’s Phone number
The candidate will present the ePIN and profile code at any JAMB-accredited CBT Centre for registration
Other Things To Note
The application cannot be completed until the candidate’s biometric (all ten fingers) are captured and photograph taken physically (No submission of passport photograph). Successful capture of biometrics and photograph will authorize a candidate to print his/her e-registration slip. The finger print shall be required for any further transaction with JAMB on the candidates’ profile.
NOTE:
Only candidates whose biometrics verification is successful on examination day will be permitted to sit the UTME. No parent or any proxy is allowed to make any transaction on the candidates’ profile.
Candidates with biometric challenges can only register at JAMB headquarters Abuja. The arrangement will be made for this through JAMB state offices

*Important Information on GCE Registration, 2022*

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has announced registration for the 1st series of the 2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination for Private Candidates (WAEC GCE).

The registration period is from December 20th to January 21st, 2022.

The registration fee is Eighteen Thousand Naira (N18,000) only. Each Candidate is expected to have a National Identification Number for the Registration exercise. Read full details below;

WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2022 -First series would be an urban-based examination. It is intended to help candidates who have deficiencies in their WASSCE results, bridge the gap.

Nineteen (19) subjects would be available for the examination. Prospective candidates are advised to visit the Council’s Corporate website – www.waecnigeria.org to confirm available examination towns and subjects before obtaining the registration PIN.

Each Candidate is expected to have a National Identification Number for the Registration exercise.

*REGISTRATION FOR THE EXAMINATION:*
Registration for WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2022-First Series will be online. After the Registration PIN, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org.ng for registration. Candidates should also note that the registration procedure has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the examination centres.

*REGISTRATION PERIOD:*
The normal registration period is from Monday December 20th, 2021 to Friday January 21st, 2022

*MODE OF PAYMENT:*
Candidates are expected to pay a registration fee of Eighteen Thousand Naira (N18,000) only, at branches of any of the following banks or any accredited agent and obtain the Registration PIN and information VCD:

Candidates who wish to register for the examination after the close of entries may be accommodated as “Walk-in-Candidates” provided they register not less than twenty-four hours to the scheduled time of the paper(s) they intend to write.

The “Walk-in-Candidate” fee is Thirty Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N30,500.00) only.

*CANDIDATES WITH SPECIAL NEEDS:*
Candidates with special needs will also register online like other candidates but they must clearly state their Impairments e.g Visual, Low vision, Spastic, Speech, Hard to hear, etc

*COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION:*
Candidates MUST conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website during the registration period.

They should ensure that their names, gender, passport photographs, dates of birth and subjects are correct.

They are also to print the Admission Notice, as Evidence of successful registration, which will serve as identification during the examination.

The Result Checker PIN will also be on the Admission Notice. The acceptable fingerprint Scanner is UareU digitalPersona fingerprint device.

*GENERAL INFORMATION:*
-Candidates should view the Information VCD before they register for the examination

-Candidates should note that registration fee is not refundable

-Candidates should continue to check the website for the examination Timetable

-Entries must be uploaded with passport photographs captured with digital camera.

The specification of the digital camera should be Microsoft HD 3000.

The passport photographs must be of good quality BLACK & WHITE OR COLOUR (JPEG File only, 275 by 314 pixels with 72 dbi resolution) and with a CONTRASTING BACKGROUND.

There must be no obstructive items. Please note that the submission of a defaced or poor quality photography by a candidate would automatically invalidate the entry of the candidate. For further details, visit www.waecnigeria.org

-Candidates should study the Regulations and Syllabuses for the examination which they can download from WAEC website (www.waeconline.org.ng) using the Registration PIN

-Candidates must go to examination halls in m***i and without arms. No professional uniform of any kind will be allowed in the examination halls

-The entire result of candidates who sit for the examination in more than one centre will be cancelled -Smoking is not allowed in the examination hall

-Any Candidate that comes into the examination hall with mobile phone(s) and /or any other electronic gadget(s) will have his or her entire results cancelled

–Candidates must ensure that their entries are correctly completed before uploading as the Council will not be held responsible for errors in candidate’s particulars. Request for amendments will NOT BE entertained on any information which a candidate voluntarily gives at the point of registration.

-Candidates must come into the examination hall with their original Admission Notice
-Candidates who engage in examination malpractice will not only have their results cancelled but may be prosecuted

-Candidates must ensure they provide valid email and telephone number(s) during registration

-All Candidates MUST be prepared to observe all COVID-19 Regulations

*NECO ANNOUNCES DATE FOR THE RELEASE OF 2021 EXAMINATION RESULTS*

The registrar and chief executive officer of the National Examination Council (NECO), Prof Ibrahim Wushishi, has promised about 1.3 million candidates writing the ongoing Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) to expect their results in three weeks.

In addition to, Speaking in Yola, Adamawa State during a visit to inspect the conduct of the examination, Prof Wushishi said, “As soon as we finish the exams, we are going into marking, so, in may be, two, three weeks, we expect to finish marking and results will be ready.” *3rd September is 3 week’s from now.* Hence, according to the NECO registrar, the results will be out on or before 3rd September 2021

Conclusively, Wushishi further revealed the plans to make the objectives component of the examination computer based, he said the Council had introduced certain innovations to eliminate examination malpractice, forgery as well as achieve a world class standard...
