What if your website is already being found… but you're not paying attention to what Google is telling you?
I don't know who needs to hear this, but your Google Search Console is more than just a dashboard.
A lot of business owners invest in a website and SEO, then ask:
"Why am I not getting enough traffic?"
But sometimes the better question is:
"What are people already searching for when Google shows my website?"
That's where Search Console becomes interesting.
Your website may already be appearing for searches you didn't even realise were happening.
Maybe people are finding you for:
• A service you offer
• A question related to your industry
• A specific problem your customers have
• A keyword you never intentionally targeted
• A page you didn't realise was performing well
Google Search Console can show you the queries, impressions, clicks, CTR and average position associated with your website's search performance.
And here's where keyword research comes in.
Instead of simply guessing:
"I think my customers search for this..."
You can start looking at actual search behaviour and asking:
What are people looking for?
Which searches are bringing visibility?
Which pages are appearing?
Where are people seeing the website but not clicking?
What opportunities are we missing?
That information can influence what content you create, which services you highlight, and which pages may need improvement.
And this is something I think more business owners should understand:
SEO isn't simply about putting keywords everywhere.
It's about understanding search intent and creating useful content and pages that actually answer what your potential customers are looking for.
Your website shouldn't just sit online looking good.
It should be connected to a strategy.
📊 Search data → Understanding → Better content → Better pages → Better opportunities
So before saying:
"SEO doesn't work for my business."
Take a step back.
Maybe you haven't looked closely enough at what Google is already telling you.
Sometimes the opportunity isn't hidden.
It's sitting inside your search data. 🔍
