3 things I don't do anymore as an SEO agency trainer who has helped freelancers turn a skill into a paying agency:
1.
Teach SEO as a list of tricks.
Tactics without a system expire the moment Google updates. I've watched students memorise "10 SEO hacks" and have nothing left to sell once the hack stopped working.
Now every module in the SEO Agency Bootcamp teaches the diagnostic process first, the thing clients actually pay a retainer for, update after update.
2.
Let students finish knowing SEO but not knowing how to charge for it
Knowing SEO and running a business selling SEO are different skills. I've seen technically brilliant freelancers freeze the moment a prospect asked: "So what's your price?"
Now the bootcamp ends with a real audit you can present, a pricing structure, and a discovery-call script — the exact things that get you paid.
3.
Run cohorts with no direct access to me.
Pre-recorded courses leave the hardest client questions unanswered. I've had students almost lose a client over something a 10-minute conversation would've fixed.
Now every cohort is live, Thu & Fri, 4-6 pm, so you can ask me directly while your first real client is still on the line.
Cost: ₦250,000 / $250.
8 live sessions across 4 weeks.
Seats are capped for each cohort.
