Today I want to be grateful for a life spent in grace and favor as I celebrate the most special day of my life. Happy birthday to myself!

Consider the storms of the greatest life ever lived. A man was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman. He grew up and worked in a carpenter shop until He was 30 years of age. He never wrote a book or held public office. He did not go to college. He never visited a big city. He never traveled more than 200 miles from the place of His birth. He did none of these things that are usually attributed to what’s required for greatness. He had no credentials himself, and then He turned 33. When His friends ran away, one of them denied Him, one sold Him for the price of a slave, one of them doubted Him and all of them scattered. He was nailed to a Roman cross between two thieves. While dying, his executioners gambled for His robe; the only property He had on Earth. When He died, He was buried in a borrowed grave, through the pity of a friend. Right here, He is the portrait of failure. Then came the third day. The rosy dawn of hope itself when the Son of God walked out of that grave as the victor and champion of death. When He rose, He stepped out and declared the world to be free of the power of sin and Satan. When He rose, He signified that we have eternal life. Jesus was the champion of Calvary; He is the champion of America and the World. He is the Son of the Living God. There is no other, Jesus is His name. - Pastor John Hagee
