Do you know that examiners don’t ask questions from everywhere in your project?

Many final year students are stressed right now, trying to cram 100+ pages before the defence. You’re tired, confused, and not even sure where to focus.

The truth is simple: examiners usually ask questions from specific sections. If you know those sections, your preparation becomes easier and smarter.

The Academic Defense Handbook for Nigerian Students is a practical guide designed to show you exactly where to concentrate.

It explains the common areas examiners pick questions from, the type of questions they ask, and how you can answer with confidence.

It is written in simple language, clear, direct, and tailored for Nigerian project, thesis, and dissertation defence.

Defence season is close.

Every day you delay is another day of reading blindly and feeling unprepared.

🚨 JAMB UPDATE 🚨

JAMB BANS CANDIDATES FROM MULTIPLE ADMISSIONS

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has stopped candidates from running more than one admission at the same time in tertiary institutions. This means that students who are already admitted and matriculated in any tertiary institution must officially withdraw from that institution before they can take part in the 2026 UTME.

This decision is aimed at preventing candidates from running two academic programmes at the same time.

🚨 JAMB UPDATE🚨

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates who are already admitted into any tertiary institution will not be eligible to participate in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) unless they provide official evidence of withdrawal from the institution.

According to JAMB, running two academic programmes concurrently is strictly prohibited under the current admission guidelines.

As a result, affected candidates must formally withdraw from their present institution and present valid proof of withdrawal before they can be considered for admission in the ongoing admission cycle.

JAMB further advised candidates and parents to confirm their admission status early and take all necessary steps to avoid disqualification or delays in the admission process.

JAMB is no longer a requirement for admission into tertiary institutions, says the Federal Government.

The Federal Government has made it easier for students to gain admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges across Nigeria. This new policy aims to increase access to higher education and was introduced under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa.

Every year, millions of students write JAMB, but only a small number are admitted. The government believes the problem is not with the students, but with the strict admission rules.

With the new reform, institutions can now admit students based on their SSCE results. For universities, students must have at least five credits in relevant subjects, including English. Mathematics is only required for science, technology, and social science courses.

To gain admission into ND programs in polytechnics, students need at least four credits including English, while for HND programs, five credits are required including English and Mathematics.

This policy is designed to reduce barriers and give more students a fair chance at continuing their education.

This does NOT cancel JAMB/UTME, but reduces its power as the only way to gain admission. Schools now have more freedom to admit based on SSCE results (like WAEC/NECO).
