FG Confirms: No New Foreign Scholarships (BEA)

The Federal Government has clarified that no new foreign scholarships will be awarded under the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) scheme.

The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa , explained that the 2026 budget still includes BEA funding only because of a rollover from 2025, not because the programme has resumed.
However, current beneficiaries abroad will continue to receive support.

Education Minister Dr Alausa clarifies that budget allocations for BEA scholarships are procedural, do not signal new foreign award cycles.
