These “bird-oid objects” are an example of emergent behaviour in which the complexity of the whole arises from the interaction of individual actors. Last week was the 'Week of the Circular Economy' in The Netherlands. Let this week be the 'Week of Regenerative Ecologies'!

The circular economy is an economic system based on the reuse of materials or products, as a means of continuing production in a sustainable or environmentally friendly way. While these practices are a great improvement - in the long run, they still have a negative or neutral impact on the environment, because they’re aimed at net-zero.

We at Starling Associates firmly believe in a regenerative approach that drives our net-positive mission. The goal of regenerative design is not to reduce the harm of new developments, but rather to use design and construction as a positive force that restores, renews or revitalises natural and human systems.
