HYPER CASUAL GAMES IN 2021.

In 2021, hypercasual games captured the top lists, as well as hearts of mobile game players around the world.

36 games in the top 100 in 2021 were hypercasual.

The top five most downloaded games belong to:

1.Supersonic Studios,
2.Zynga (Rollic),
3.Azur Games,
4.Crazy Labs,
5.SayGames.

Hyper-casual games are more popular in the West.

Newzoo and Pangle also created a portrait of a hypercasual player in the US, UK, Japan and South Korea.

Most often it is men (in 61% of cases), between 27 and 30 years of age, with a medium-to-high income, higher education, who love video games.

SENSOR TOWER: PUBG MOBILE HAS EARNED OVER $8 BILLION.

In the first quarter of 2022 alone, the game earned $650 million. At the same time, it is the lowest revenue since Q4 2020.

China accounts for 57% of PUBG Mobile’s total revenue - $4.7 billion. The US shares 11%, the third largest in Turkey - 4%.
The App Store is responsible for 81% of the total revenue of the project. Excluding China, the distribution is more equal - the App Store accounts for 56% of the revenue.

Despite the fact that in the first quarter of 2022 in the App Store and Google Play revenue PUBG Mobile and in general such a genre as shooters decreased compared to last year, the game still ranks second in the world in terms of spending on mobile games.
Shooters remain in 5th place with regards to revenue - the same position was held by this category in the first quarter of 2021.

Although PUBG Mobile continues to be very profitable, wider market trends show that even the best games are not immune to global market problems such as IDFA obstacles, inflation, and rising living costs.

GAMING IN NUMBERS - A LITTLE BIT OF STATISTICS

Let's talk about gaming industry statistics.

Over the past two years, 27% of all mobile game downloads have come from hyper-casual titles.

The number of downloads in 2021 increased by 32% compared to 2020. The Latin American region showed the highest growth - 35%.

27% of all downloads were for hyper-casual games. Next in line are action games (17%), puzzles (11%), sports games (10%), strategies (5%).

The ratio of paid traffic to organic in 2021 increased from 0.73 (2020) to 0.81. The hypercasual category has the most paid users - about every third player is ready to buy paid options in the game.

Median eCPI (effective Cost Per Instal) – increased from $1.74 in 2020 to $2.18 in 2021.

The average length of sessions in 2021 declined compared to 2020. But the number of sessions rose.
