SARC BV SARC BV, supplier of services and software for the maritime industry. PIAS is an integrated computer program for the evaluation of a ship design.

It comprises, among others, modules for hydrostatics, intact stability, grain stability, damage stability, probabilistic damage stability, and longitudinal strength, calculation of the resistance and propulsion characteristics, tonnage and deadweight, and the tank capacities of the ship. PIAS can be used in all design stages, from the first preliminary sketch up to the final design. Calculations a

re executed according to the different international regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL etc.). LOCOPIAS is on-board loading computer software. Derived from the PIAS software, it uses the same proven technology to achieve optimum loading within the limits for strength, stability, draft, etc. This ensures maximum safety of the vessel, the crew, the environment and the payload or passengers. Fairway is software for design, fairing, manipulation of ship hull forms, plate expansions and conversions of models from other design software. Fairway is part of SARC’s suit of naval architectural software PIAS. SARC is heavily involved in design and analyses of ships and other floating structures and related consultancy. Since it was established in 1980, SARC has been involved in over 2300 projects, covering a wide scope of vessel types, sizes and categories: tankers, dry cargo, naval, passenger, tugs, heavy lift, inland waterway, seagoing, workboats, yachts, sailing yachts, sailing cruise ships, RoRo, pontoons, dredgers, Special Purpose Ships, etcetera.
