You don't like surprises. Notifications begin to arrive, suggesting optimizations based on your habits. "We've noticed you typically enter the living room and switch on the room's lights after 6 PM every evening. Shall I handle it for you?"

This unexpected convenience brings a smile to your face.

Imagine if this level of automation extended to your entire family, effortlessly suggesting and adjusting routines without the need for hours of manual setup and maintenance.

Smart home systems and platforms started gaining traction about 10 years ago. They allowed to remotely control all aspects of the house, and enabled the creation of various automations. In a nutshell, they transformed the house from a physically controlled house to a remote controlled one.

Our vision is to transform smart homes from remote controlled systems to self-regulating systems that are smart enough to understand the occupants’ patterns and discover and suggest smart automations.

Towards achieving this vision, we will launch a campaign to get initial funding for implementing a prototype system for Apple's HomeKit Smart Home platform that will demonstrate the following:

- ability to detect a person entering or exiting a room.
- ability to process all the smart home events, recognize patterns and propose automations.
- ability to connect external resources such as school/work calendars and use them for (2).
