As 2024 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our customers, partners, and suppliers for their continued trust and support. It’s been a transformative year for PerfGrid, and we’re excited to share some key milestones:
- 🌐 New Website Launch: We refreshed our online presence with a modern look to better reflect who we are today.
- 🔄 Rebrand: Hosting4Real officially became PerfGrid—a name that reflects our commitment to performance and growth.
- 🛠 In-House Control Panel Enhancements: This year saw the addition of key features like Photon Optimizer, Reseller capabilities, a File Manager, Valkey (Redis) support, Node.js application hosting, and advanced Statistics.
- 🏢 Datacenter Upgrade: We relocated to a new facility, setting the stage for future expansion.
- 📈 Traffic Milestone: 2024 marked the largest increase in traffic consumption we’ve ever seen—proof that our customers are thriving!

While we’ve celebrated growth in many areas, we’ve also made tough decisions, including letting go of a few customers to ensure alignment with our vision. On the bright side, we’ve gained new customers, resulting in a net-positive increase in the community we serve.

Looking ahead to 2025, our focus will remain on innovation and growth. We aim to:
- Expand the functionality of our in-house control panel
- Simplify migration paths from cPanel
- Onboard more web agencies with our revamped reseller plans
- Introduce even more exciting features

We've completed the first two of three patches on all servers but one (kernel will be available tomorrow) - general downtime per server was about 5 minutes - one server (server5) did suffer from an extended downtime due to a race-condition within CloudLinux.

We run something called "CageFS" which isolate users from each other, this works by mounting common folders as virtual and hiding the rest of the system.

The race-condition itself resulted in the CageFS folders being created for the users before the folder where databases are stored in, got mounted.

As a result all connections via "localhost" (socket connections) would fail, and all connections via TCP to MySQL would succeed.

Our monitoring page didn't do this check, which means that discovering the bug in first took more time than it should, extending the downtime.

What we will do, is to implement a check that does both socket and TCP MySQL connections to ensure that the connections continue to work as they should.

We're sorry for the inconvenience caused by this extended downtime.

Due to the recent vulnerabilities affecting x86-64 CPU's, we're going to have to reboot all our systems. We're still waiting a bit for our kernels to be tested for stability - https://shop.hosting4real.net/serverstatus.php?view=open will get updated.

We want to say thank you to all our customers and all the support we got throughout 2017 and wish everyone a happy new year tomorrow.

- RBX8 (Server8)

The datacenter is working on restoring the services for all their customers.

On March 29th there will be performed a network maintenance on server6 (RBX6) starting at 10pm.

We've created a task for the intervention here: https://shop.hosting4real.net/serverstatus.php?view=scheduled

In short: There will be performed an upgrade of the fabric extenders (Network equipment) above the specific server, it means the datacenter has to physically connect the server to the equipment, which will cause about 1-2 minutes of downtime.

45 minutes later, another short interruption will happen for a few seconds to finish the maintenance.

We've detected a critical issue on server4 (GRA4) - which results in we have to plan an emergency maintenance at 9pm tonight.

During the maintenance there might be a a moment where websites will be unavailable, but as always we try to keep the downtime as short as possible.
