We’re honored to be featured in the first-ever list that honors Whispp as one of the biggest innovators and impact-makers in accessibility.

has selected us as one of the most meaningful technologies for improving the lives of people with disabilities. We feel proud and grateful to see our work recognized in this way.
Over the past year, we have received several acknowledgments, including TIME's Invention of the Year, the CES Innovation Award, and the Best of MWC Barcelona award. These recognitions highlight how far Whispp has come, but we continue to focus on what matters most: helping people communicate more naturally, clearly, and confidently. More than 12,000 people now use the Whispp app to speak in their natural voice, with the improved proprietary AI.

The new on-device AI models further eliminate latency and improve the naturalness of the synthetic voice. This means that anyone using this feature will be able to have a conversation anywhere utilizing a synthesized version of their natural speech with the intended intonation and emotion.

Roger lost his natural voice after laryngeal cancer. But he didn’t lose his sense of humor or his will to connect.

“I’m now back to being able to tell dad jokes, interact with my friends, and have lots of fun,” Roger shared after using the Whispp voice app.

In 2018, Whispp began with a simple idea: to give people with voice disabilities the freedom to communicate confidently. Inspired by personal experiences, founders Joris & Akash realized traditional assistive tech wasn’t enough. They set out to create something new—a real-time, audio-to-audio solution that converts whispered or affected speech into a clear, natural voice.

Fast forward to 2024, and Whispp has been named one of Best Inventions in Accessibility! TIME’s annual list honors innovations that transform lives, and we’re honored to be among them.

Yesterday, we had the honour of attending the tenth presentation of the Gerard & Anton Awards, marking the milestone of the 100th winner. With over 300 visitors, the event was a grand celebration of innovation and promise in the Brainport Eindhoven region.

As our wonderful hosts, Beatrix Bos and Bert-Jan Woertman, perfectly stated: “We have rightly had a lot of attention in recent months on the content and consequences of Project Beethoven. But now it is time to let the allegro of the startup community follow that composer’s andante!”

During the sold-out event at the High Tech Campus, we were recognized as one of the ten most promising startups for our contributions and potential.
The selection process was rigorous, and the long list of over seventy candidates highlighted the exceptional quality of all contenders. As jury chairman Stijn Steenbakkers mentioned, “Certainly half of them could have been on stage in the same way.”
