He works as a strategic design consultant at the largest design agency in the south of the Netherlands: Zuiderlicht, where he uses the skillset, mindset, and toolkit of design to help companies innovate by combining business, technology and the user ✨
At the conference, Dennis will be giving a talk on how 'design thinking' can be used by businesses and organizations to solve problems, and how 7 design principles can lift human problem-solving capacity to a level where we can actually deal with complex problems 👍

FEATURE #2 - Gertjan Meeuws
In 2018, Gertjan and his wife, Lianne, founded ‘Seven Steps to Heaven’, where they conducted research into new techniques of indoor farming, especially into the effects of humidity and airflow. He applies proprietary indoor farming solutions and decades of experience in order to enable breakthroughs in growing, propagating, and breeding.
During the conference, he will be giving a talk on how the alternative indoor farming methods can create a better growing environment for crops 🌱 use 95% less water 💦 zero pesticides 🐞 reducing transportation 🚛 and pollution 💨

FEATURE #1 - Anja Lyngbæk
Our first speaker of the conference is the Associate Director of Local Futures – an international NGO focused on promoting localisation globally. Her focus is on the global economy that is threatening the wellbeing and survival of people and planet. For the past decade, Anja has been advocating for a new economy and a systemic shift towards place-based economies operating in service of people and within ecological limits. She will be giving a talk and a workshop on economic localisation and activism in service of people and the planet 👯🌍

Are you interested in organising thought-provoking events with an interdisciplinary team, using creative problem-solving methods?
Maastricht Disrupt is a student-led organisation and hub for critical thinking and human-centred design. We invite students, professionals and innovators to exchange knowledge and share tools during our annual conferences at the CUBE Design Museum and open workshops at local events.
