Als je op Google zoekt naar ‘maritime ERP’ kom je onder de enorme hoeveelheid advertenties direct de Shipbuilder artikelen tegen. Is dat vreemd?

Shipbuilder is geen ERP-programma, verre van dat. En toch staan we op nummer 1 en 2. In de maritieme sector wordt veel gezocht naar ERP-programma’s om maritieme projecten te managen. Als je vervolgens de kop leest: “Met alleen ERP-systemen bouw je geen jachten en schepen” triggert dat.

Uit ervaring weten we dat ERP-programma’s prima werken voor de financiële afdelingen. Het bijhouden van financiële prestaties gaat top, maar dat is iets anders dan specifiek een scheepsbouwproject managen. Wat dacht je van een grote, complexe maritieme refit klus? Het is niet aan te raden om dat met een ERP-programma te doen. Die zijn niet gemaakt voor deze klussen.
