Introducing Elektra Bio cinema, our latest DX client who went live this week with our integrated ticketing solution! 🚀

Part of the Swedish Folkets Bio chain of indie and art-house specialist cinemas, Elektra Bio sits within the thriving cultural centre Kulturhus Västerås and serves a community of 160,000! 🍿

They’re also part of the Sweden-wide Biopasset cinema club network allowing pass holders to view selected films at half-prices in cinemas from a curated selection

Alongside screenings the team are always working to deliver an enhanced cinema going experience with themed events, curated film seasons, music afternoons, Q&As and more.

From “film, food, and music” nights in partnership with local restaurants, to “film talks” and “culture nights”, as well as live event screenings of opera, concerts and theatre. 📽️

Meet the DX team! 👋 Product Manager Stian Kvalvik has been with us for six years and shared a few life highlights with us. ⤵️

1️⃣ Your favourite part of working with DX?

It has to be the people I work with, and our yearly summits - last year we all got together in Vilnius! I also think our customers are some of the coolest people in the world! 😎

2️⃣ What’s been a highlight from your DX career so far?

When I joined DX, I started in Customer Success doing all kinds of things. I became Product Manager thanks to the help of incredible colleagues, good growth opportunities, and a management culture that sees you. I’m really proud of this achievement!

3️⃣ Favourite movie?

Kung Fury! I’ve watched it too many times to count…It’s a hilarious, over-the-top, 80s kung-fu police-action parody movie. My favorite line? “Tank you.” 🥋

4️⃣ Which Superhero would you be?

Definitely Doctor Who! It’s got adventure, two hearts, regeneration, and lots of wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff! Brilliant! ⏳

5️⃣ What’s your go-to cinema snack?

Bacon snacks! It’s a crime to watch a movie without that. 🥓

6️⃣ If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?

The USA! There’s so many places I want to see, and so many things that I want to try that we simply do not have here in Norway, like Taco Bell. I’d visit Miami and scout for Yngwie Malmsteen in his red Ferrari… 🚘

It’s that time of year again, and we’re excited to be attending the Kosmorama Trondheim International Film Festival for it's 20th edition! 🎬 📽️

Ørjan Eilertsen and Oddvar Haug Jenssen are representing the DX family, connecting with industry friends and customers, enjoying the best of Trondheim and catching up with DX Ambassadors.

This year’s program is no disappointment with 7 days of great films in the beautiful Prinsen Cinema Centre.

One of this year's highlights includes the festival opening with a Nordic film title Hammarskjöld 🇳🇴 🇸🇪 🇩🇰 and an orchestra playing music form the film before the screening. ♫🎻

📣 New on our blog! Meet Erlend Serigstad of Bryne Kino cinema, Norway - one of DX’s longest standing clients, since 2001! 📽️👋

Erland’s devotion to Bryne Kino began two decades ago as a young projectionist, and he has devoted his life to perfecting the cinema experience for his audiences ever since, now as the cinema’s operator.

Here’s a quick tour of his successes! ⬇️

🎟️ 90,000 admissions in 2019, with an average annual box office of 70,000
🔧 DX Adoption: Erlend became a client in 2001 and his operator insights helped shape our client solution

We’re always excited to talk about , the future of cinema, and how our DX solution helps cinema managers with efficient operations — so that’s exactly what Guillaume did 🤓

📚🛠️ He also facilitated a thoughtful conversation on training needs and information sharing in cinema technology powered by the International Cinema Technology Association - ICTA 📽️ — a subject we’re keen on, as educating cinema staff is part of our mission of powering great experiences.
