The media job market has never been tougher. Budgets are contracting, AI is absorbing tasks that used to employ whole departments, and virtual production is compressing workflows that took years to build. So what does a smart move actually look like right now?

We put together this session because we know how the job market is for production people, and we want an honest conversation about where professionals can genuinely pivot, what reskilling is worth pursuing, and where the real emerging opportunities are.

If you are thinking about your next move, this is the 30 minutes worth clearing your schedule for: https://hubs.li/Q04d-Jv_0

When Indiana University set out to build the KIX Lab, they didn't just want a shiny new piece of kit. They wanted to create a genuine space for teaching, research, and creative work at the intersection of film, gaming, performance, and emerging media.

Multiple departments are now sharing a production floor, designing joint projects around XR workflows used in professional broadcast and live production every day.

The lab itself is built around a 30x15-foot curved LED volume with ceiling and floor coverage, designed and installed by American Sound with Unilumin and InterAmerica Stage.

Pixotope provides the real-time graphics rendering for the LED volume, and Pixotope Vision - our hybrid camera tracking system that reads natural features in the physical environment and can be reinforced with markers where conditions demand it.

We're proud to be part of what Indiana University is building here.

If your institution is exploring what this kind of space could look like for your students and researchers, get in touch.

The jet lag has lifted, the inbox is manageable, and the good ideas from the NAB show floor are starting to stick; including that conversation at our Pixotope Lounge.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by and had great conversations about past, present and future projects.

We kept it demo-free on purpose because a generic demo tells you very little about what Pixotope can actually do for your production and how we can elevate your virtual workflows.

That's what the consultation is for.

If we didn't get the chance to connect, or you're still thinking through what we discussed, let's keep it going.

Today is the last day of NAB Show and if you have not had a chance to stop by and sign up for our trial license, there is still time. Come find us at booth N3065 in the North Hall before the doors close.

The conversations this week have covered everything from live production workflows to what the next generation of virtual production looks like in practice, and we have loved every minute of it.

If you missed us entirely, we are not going anywhere. Reach out and let's pick up the conversation: https://hubs.li/Q04d0HQJ0

Virtual production is no longer about “what’s possible.” Now it’s about what teams can actually deliver consistently.

Our CXO Simon Davis spoke with TV Technology this week and a few things stood out: the talent gap is real and growing, hybrid workflows are becoming the default rather than the exception, and the next wave of adoption won't come from the biggest productions.

It'll come from midmarket broadcasters and sports leagues who are just now building the workflows to match their ambitions.

We are changing the math on how fast you can build a broadcast-ready virtual environment: from now on, Pixotope supports 3D Gaussian Splatting through the Volinga plugin.

"Gaussian Splatting represents a fundamental shift in how production teams can bring real-world locations into virtual environments. By supporting the Volinga Plugin, we're giving our users the ability to capture a location with a camera or drone and have a broadcast-ready 3D environment inside Pixotope just within hours," says Øystein Larsen, Chief Creative Officer.

It renders in real time alongside your live camera feeds, existing graphics, and XR or VS/AR setups. HDR and professional colour management (ACES, OCIO) are included. Multi-machine rendering for LED volume stages works too.

Come find us at the Pixotope Lounge N3065 at the NAB Show, or reach out directly and we'll connect you with the right person.

The floor is loud, the schedule is packed, and your feet already know it. Come find us in Pixotope lounge N3065: sit down, have a coffee, and talk through whatever's on your mind with the people who actually build the platform.

You'll also find us at the EVS booth N1841 where Pixotope is powering AR graphics alongside T-Motion's camera robotics platform.

We'd love to see you.

The conversation has changed. A year ago: "Should we look into virtual production?" Today: "We know we need to. We just can't afford to break what's on air."

That's progress - and it's a solvable problem.

Some broadcasters start with a single studio. Others upgrade during a scheduled off-air window. A few transition while shows keep running.

There's no single right way. But the longer it stays theoretical, the harder it gets to move.

Pixotope is the team that broadcasters trust – because we understand the way you work.

If you're at NAB and ready to make it concrete - we're in the North Hall:

For its coverage of the 2026 French municipal elections, the TF1 Group once again chose to rely on Pixotope XR technology to visualize key electoral cases and provide the audience with an immersive, dynamic visual experience.

For this edition, political editor Adrien Gindre operates within a dedicated area of the news set equipped with an LED floor and a semi-cylindrical LED wall - a setup specifically designed to enhance the clarity and editorial impact of daily news broadcasts.

The system is powered by three Pixotope engines running on Epic Unreal Engine.

These engines are perfectly synchronized to display the correct parallax in real-time based on the camera's position. Consequently, regardless of the camera angle, the journalist remains within a stable, coherent virtual environment that appears seamlessly integrated into the physical studio space.

This approach provides major advantages:

✓ Perceived Depth: It significantly increases the perceived depth of the studio area, allowing for ambitious staging without physical space constraints.

✓ Editorial Agility: Provides the editorial team with a dynamic graphical environment to illustrate live analyses, transitions between themes, or specific case studies.

A fourth Pixotope engine is dedicated exclusively to Augmented Reality (AR) elements.

These elements are overlaid in the 3D space with an optimal level of visual integration: perspectives, shadows, reflections, and depth consistency are impeccably aligned with the content displayed on the LED backdrop.

This high level of integration is made possible because all four engines utilize the exact same 3D scene, guaranteeing perfect visual continuity between the physical set, the XR projection, and the AR objects.

Through this seamless combination of XR (Extended Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality), TF1 delivers a unique immersive experience - a first in Europe.

This presentation is clearer, more engaging, and more educational, effectively modernizing the aesthetics of live, prime-time news.
