💭 Digitalization, AI, and the Loss of Humanity
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how much our daily lives are being shaped by digitalization and artificial intelligence and I’m growing increasingly concerned about this trend.
More and more, it feels like constant use of digital tools and language models is eroding our ability to think and reflect for ourselves. Decisions, texts, opinions, so much is being outsourced these days.
At the same time, I’m noticing a coarsening of how we interact with each other. A quick look at comment sections is enough: empathy, respect, and mindfulness seem to be disappearing.
Of course, there are many causes for this, but digitalization is amplifying these tendencies. It creates speed, information overload, and superficiality - exactly where connection, time, and depth are needed most.
This makes me wonder:
👉 How can we shape the digital world so that it strengthens people - instead of replacing them?
