Still reflecting on the incredible energy from the Melbourne H5P Community Event!

From the opening remarks through to the evening networking reception, the day was packed with thoughtful conversations and practical examples of how institutions are using H5P to create more engaging and human-centred learning experiences.

Some standout sessions included:
• Tony Maguire on trust, governance, and AI-enabled universities
• RMIT’s “Strategy Sprint” branching scenario game
• Deakin’s work combining H5P and Open Educational Resources
• Victoria University’s AI-enhanced immersive virtual tours
• La Trobe’s session on scaling interactive multimedia with H5P

The room was full all day, the discussions were generous and honest, and the networking never really stopped.

Huge thank you to every speaker, attendee, and supporter who helped make the event feel so collaborative and welcoming.

What a day at the Melbourne H5P Community Event!

A sold-out room filled with educators, learning designers, technologists, multimedia teams, and edtech practitioners coming together to share ideas, challenges, and creative approaches to interactive learning.

Across the day we explored:
✨ AI and trust in higher education
✨ Branching scenarios and gamified learning
✨ H5P-powered open education resources
✨ Immersive 360° virtual tours and simulations
✨ Creative ways to push Course Presentation beyond “slides”

One of the best parts of the day was the energy between sessions — hallway conversations, spontaneous idea sharing, laughter over coffee, and new connections continuing well into the networking reception.

Huge thanks to all our speakers and attendees for making the Melbourne community event such a success. The passion in this space is incredible.
