We are heartbroken to learn that Zahra passed away yesterday after a brave and unwavering fight with cancer.

Zahra brought light, intention, and quiet strength into everything she touched.

We feel fortunate to have spent a few moments with her and Babar — enough to witness how honesty, humour, and compassion can truly melt hearts.

Our thoughts are with Babar, their families, and everyone who loved her. May her memory continue to shine through all that she created and the many lives she touched.

We were delighted to spend an afternoon with Zahra and Babar, founders of to hear the story of how they created a brand that took their native Karachi by storm and continues to win the affection of a captive audience beyond Pakistan. It started during COVID when Zahra used her sister’s cheesecake recipe at home, just for fun. She shared a few slices with colleagues and… they loved it. To their surprise, orders started pouring in even before it was really a thing. One order led to another until it became the No Nonsense Cheese Cake. Today, it’s become a bit of a household name in Pakistan, a beloved choice for celebrations, festivals, and little everyday treats. At the same time, Babar was exploring his own passion of making Neapolitan pizza offering it through catering and pop-up events. The merging of these two initiatives is how took shape.

Zahra and Babar left their respective corporate jobs to follow what felt more real to them. And when they talk about their journey, the one thing they emphasize is staying true to themselves. Keeping it simple and personal. Keeping it authentic. No fuss. Just honesty. A hand-drawn logo on a brown paper box. Photos and videos taken on their phones. No brand guidelines. No curated feeds. Just real moments, shared as they happen. And somehow… that makes it all feel even more special. You can feel the heart behind every choice. The care in every detail. Is it branding? Yes, but Zahra and Babar’s own terms. Quietly bold. Comfortingly clear. One product per brand. Three sizes. No questions left unanswered. Everything is upfront, open, and easy to love.

Our hearts filled with admiration, not just for what they’ve built, but for how beautifully it reflects who they are.

Recently, we attended the two-day BrandFest event organized by the Himalayan Times. Industry experts from across the country and around the world met to discuss how brands are shaping the world we live in. The theme, “Purpose-Driven Branding,” both inspired and reassured us. As we listened to the insights, it became increasingly clear that the path we chose more than a decade ago is aligned with the direction the industry is now embracing.

Each speaker echoed a powerful sentiment: both the present and the future are being shaped by brands with a purpose and a human approach at their core. Brands that exist not just to sell, but to serve, to bring about meaningful change, and to positively impact humanity. The creative brilliance of agencies such as Ogilvy, Landor, and N96 blew our minds, with their campaigns for brands like Cadbury, Red Label Tea, and Savlon, demonstrating how purpose-driven branding can be bold and impactful.

In every project we take on, we guide our clients to embrace a philosophy where money, while essential, is not the ultimate goal but the fuel that propels us toward a higher purpose. From day one, we guide our clients to think deeply about the "why" behind their brand. Every successful brand is built on a foundation of purpose, and that's where our work begins.

That’s why, in every briefing session we have with our clients, we start by asking the most important question: Why are you doing this?

In the colourful world of traditional truck painting, Karachi stands as a famous hub. Some say the craft started here.

On a busy roadside yard, dozens of trucks are parked, doors, windows and bonnets open as if sunbathing in the scorching heat. Here, young and old artists transform long distance trucks into moving masterpieces that today are celebrated in galleries and museums across the world. Bold reds, bright yellows, and electric blues dance across the surface of the vehicles, creating a spectacle that is impossible to ignore. The familiar and unmistakable sounds and smells of truck painting permeate every corner of the small district competing only with the smoking oversized pots of mutton biryani and their loud chef!

"We treat our trucks like our bride," says a father of 5 with a facetious smile. “She must look good, smell good and sing well”. He speaks in proverbs and poetic verses, explaining how he wants to feel during his long, solitary drives through Pakistan and neighbouring countries.

"I am proud to drive my beautiful truck for weeks on all the roads of Pakistan and India”, he says. “I am alone on these long trips, but every time I look at my truck I feel less homesick”. He passes a loving palm over the intricate patterns and illustrations, the hand lettered messages and the hundreds of tinkling bells that will resonate through the highways.

Sitting on a bench in the shade of a large tree, the bond between the truck driver and the artist is beautiful to see. Abdul wants his truck to remind him of everything that is dear to him. During his long lonely drives he wants to carry with him his family, his faith, the sounds of his village. The artist would interpret these thoughts and infuse them into the artwork, adding his personal flair.

Truck artists are custodians of a living tradition that embodies the spirit, creativity, and resilience of the nation. Through their colourful creations, they not only beautify the roads but also tell the story of Pakistan's past, present, and future. In a world of constant change, they remind us of the enduring power of art to connect, inspire, and unite.

Meanwhile, there is always a tea boy around carrying a dozen chai glasses on a ringed tray. The more experienced spill less as they navigate the narrow spaces between the trucks, sometimes having to squeeze their already slim body between the open truck doors.

We love screen printing—the feeling when hands and fabric meet through ink and bring patterns to life. In several of our projects, we have utilized this technique to achieve fabulous results.
