Some of the largest companies in the world use Microsoft Dynamics – and some of the smallest.

However, extracting the same value out of these powerful tools at the ‘boutique’ end of the market isn’t as straightforward as many may think.

Here are some common challenges our client’s face:

•You don’t have a large team of internal experts - so you must rely on outside help.

•You struggle to understand what’s possible - so you end up accepting something less.

•You don’t have a lot of time to spare – so you can’t deal with layers of admin and bureaucracy.

If you don’t have the right support in place, the tools that are meant to make your life easier can just make it more complex instead.

So, the question is, what can our Adaptable support do for you?

In a complex world, things can be simple with the Power Platform.

To get the most out of all the various apps, solutions, tools, and systems you run, you need a way to connect and automate them.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Power Platform is the low-code solution to digitise, customise and automate processes.

The best thing is, once it is set up you don’t need to be a developer to use it.

Power Platform isn’t limited to just connecting Microsoft solutions. It’s about building an Enterprise level infrastructure for a fraction of the cost.

Making the Power Platform work is not about installing it. It's about really understanding your business, identifying the opportunities for improvement, and then matching the best Power Platform outcomes to get you there.

Smart companies are looking for more visibility the sales pipeline, but also stock availability.

Several have come to us looking for a solution, but we are sorry to say that just throwing some software at the problem isn’t going to make your sales team any more effective.

We have taken the time to study the issue and identified five key things we believe are needed for the software to get your remote sales team working.

Long before Covid hit, businesses were struggling with managing remote sales teams. Often the only way to really understand what was happening in the field was to call them into home base on a monthly or quarterly basis. Typically, this created a surge of activity in updating forecast and pipeline documents – largely in spreadsheets – some shared, some not.

Even so, it meant information was slow and often arrived too late for managers or the sales teams themselves to correct a gap in the pipeline. If you don’t have visibility of progress until month’s end it is very hard to make corrections, including getting the team really focused on selling down stock.

Oddly it was often when sales teams were busy and selling well that the biggest information gaps appeared, and the biggest issues arose.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 does alleviate this problem, but just throwing the software at the sales team is not enough.

Here are five factors to consider when you are looking at implementing CRM software:

When you’re starting to use a brand new computer or phone, usually one of the first things you’re presented with are these questions: What language do you want me to speak? Where are you located?

This allows the device to understand not just the preferred UI language and your physical location. It also enables it to make educated guesses on: Which formats make sense to you for number, date and time fields. What time zone you are living in.

Now, let’s move from devices to software, namely model-driven Power Apps. Do you recall seeing similar onboarding prompts when starting to use (or build) apps?

Nope, Microsoft doesn’t ask such questions. https://jukkaniiranen.com/2023/03/your-power-apps-user-settings-are-probably-wrong/

Are the date, time, number and currency fields looking funny in your app that uses Dataverse? Here's where to fix the settings & why managing them is so complex.

It’s a lot of information, and it can get confusing quickly.

Vocational education provider Te Pūkenga has joined Microsoft, TupuToa and Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand in a joint initiative aimed at filling the huge need for skilled cybersecurity experts in New Zealand, while boosting diversity.

Te Pūkenga is currently developing a micro-credential in cybersecurity which it aims to put on offer in March 2023. The proposed offering will include on-campus and work-based experience, designed to pathway under-represented ākonga (learners) into entry level roles in cybersecurity in Aotearoa New Zealand.

TupuToa, a social enterprise focussed on growing Māori and Pacific leaders for a greater Aotearoa, is partnering with Microsoft under a global initiative targeted at closing the cybersecurity skills gap. Together with Te Pūkenga and Te Whatu Ora, they co-developed a tailored cybersecurity education programme for all New Zealanders, reflecting inclusive values to make it more accessible to people of all cultures.

Te Whatu Ora is ready to welcome up to 10 paid apprentices under the programme, which includes Microsoft certifications highly sought-after by employers. More organisations are set to follow.

Microsoft announced a new AI-powered Copilot for its Microsoft 365 apps and services last week, designed to assist people with generating documents, emails, presentations, and much more.

The Copilot, powered by GPT-4 from OpenAI, will sit alongside Microsoft 365 apps much like an assistant appearing in the sidebar as a chatbot that allows Office users to summon it to generate text in documents, create PowerPoint presentations based on Word documents, or even help use features like PivotTables in Excel. Microsoft’s Copilot leaked earlier today.

“It works alongside you, embedded in the apps millions of people use everyday: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and more,” said Microsoft 365 head Jared Spataro. “Copilot is a whole new way of working."

Copilot will be available across Microsoft 365 apps and services.
