Hi Waiheke,

Vector has a planned outage in Trig Hill from 10am-4pm today. This will put one of our pop sites out of action for that time as well meaning up to 200 people will not have Internet.

COVID 19 Update - Essential Internet Service Waiheke Island

We are OPEN, but we've made some changes to ensure we comply with lockdown measures.

What this means:

*We can continue supplying internet to all our existing customers (yay)

*We can perform emergency and routine maintenance on our broadcast equipment if needed

*All remote support and booked tickets will be undertaken as normal

*Wireless installs can be undertaken if the client feels confident to self install with remote assistance via phone.

SELF INSTALL AND CONTACTLESS DELIVERY

We are not able to go into people's homes to install wireless internet equipment during the lockdown. We can pre-configure and deliver equipment needed to install wireless yourself. Written instructions are provided and you will be able to access remote assistance via phone.

Install equipment cost starts at $200ish and go up from there depending on what radio you require to get signal from one of our towers, how much cable is required and how you would like to set up your Wi-Fi.

Call 09 372 4495 and leave your details, a technician will get back to you as soon as possible.

Covid 19 update: as an essential service our wireless and fibre Internet will continue to run, however we are not able to visit you in your homes to do site surveys or installs during the lockdown.

Anyone with a booking in the next two days will still be visited, but please remember no handshakes people (yay finger guns are back!)

After the Great Waiheke Internet Blackout of 8/4/19 we had another look at back-up and fail-over options for internet connectivity for those who positively can't afford to go offline.

These work with cellular network coverage (use the mobile provider of your choice). Due to it’s large sized high gain antenna, the device is capable of connecting to cell towers in extreme rural locations, or can be installed as as an automatic or manual fail-over to ensure you are always able to email and process transactions, even in the event that the internet goes down.
