FROM KAZ TO THE EXPO WALLS! ✈️🌏

When Marie from Roam Travel Adventures told us she was heading to the Women’s Lifestyle Expo, she needed signage that looked fabulous, was easy to transport and wouldn’t be a nightmare to store afterwards.

Enter Palite – smooth, lightweight and perfect for hanging on expo walls. We designed a suite of signs to showcase everything Marie does, along with a pull-up banner for her table, complete with a QR code taking visitors straight to her website. Simple, smart and easy to install!

And Marie does a LOT. With decades of travel industry experience, she works alongside her clients to design and book their perfect holiday – and also hosts small-group tours for women to some pretty incredible destinations… Egypt, India, Peru and beyond - plus her African Safaris - something for everyone 🌍

Oh, and if travelling on two wheels is more your thing, she’s also a distributor for Leon Cycles e-bikes. 🚲

We popped in to see Marie at the Expo and the place was absolutely humming – always a good sign!

We’ve loved working with Marie on this project. There’s something pretty satisfying about seeing a design leave our screens at Kaz and come to life out in the real world. 💛

How much bribery is too much bribery? Asking for a friend… 😂

We just wanted to give a BIG shout-out to the fabulous team at Rocketspark .

They pick up our calls. Every. Single. Time.

Although we’re fairly certain there are days when our number flashes up and there’s a quick game of paper, scissors, rock in the office to decide who gets our call today. 😂

Sometimes we call because we’ve hit something that’s just beyond our technical knowledge.

And sometimes… we’ve simply had a little thought fart and something that should work, doesn’t. 🤦‍♀️

Whatever the issue, the Rocketspark team patiently talks us through it, usually with a good dose of humour, and makes sure we’re sorted before we hang up.

And THAT is worth its weight in gold...or in this case chocolate fish.🐠

Because when they help us, we can help our clients faster. Everyone wins.

You simply don’t get that level of personal, pick-up-the-phone-and-talk-to-an-actual-human service from many of the big overseas platforms.

Yet Rocketspark, in our minds, is absolutely up there playing with the big boys – they just happen to be clever Kiwis who know our names. ❤️

So… back to the bribery.

How many coffees, chocolate fish or cakes does it take to ensure the Kaz number never gets put on the “do not answer” list? 😂

Thanks Rocketspark team. You make Kaz shine – and we really do appreciate you.

COMMUNITY 🚀

One of the things we love most about being part of the community is that it's never just about websites.

Every now and then we'll sit down with Carlos for a chat. It usually starts with, "So... what's new?" and before we know it we're talking about new Rocketspark features, AI, where the web is heading, and all the clever ways we can use technology to make life better for our clients. 💡

We always walk away feeling a little more inspired than when we arrived.

That's what makes Rocketspark different. Their team is genuinely invested in the success of their community of designers. They're there to educate us, encourage us, challenge us, celebrate the wins, and give us a nudge when we need one.

It never feels like we're just another partner.

It feels like we're part of a big family... one that's always learning, always sharing, and always looking for ways to do things better.

And we absolutely love being part of it. 💙

ACCOUNTABILITY 🤝

Being in business by yourself can be tough.

There are days when I catch myself thinking, "Well, I'm only accountable to myself." But the more I think about it, the more I realise that's simply not true.

I'm accountable to Kylie, my amazing teammate of nearly 18 years. 💙 I'm accountable to the incredible suppliers we work with, whose businesses rely on us too. And most importantly, I'm accountable to our clients. They're trusting us with their investment, so it's our job to make sure they receive value every step of the way.

Then there's my weekly swim with Kelly. 🏊‍♀️

I can think of plenty of reasons not to go... especially when the pool feels about half a degree colder than I believe it should! 🥶 But I know Kelly will already be there, a couple of laps in before I even arrive. She's expecting me, so I show up.

And you know what? By the time we've finished our swim, put the world to rights (while somehow managing to swim at the same time! 😂), and climbed out of the pool, everything feels different. We've exercised, we've chatted, we've solved a few of life's little problems, and somehow the day ahead seems much brighter.

Sometimes accountability isn't about deadlines or to-do lists. Sometimes it's simply about not letting someone else down.

So if you're running a business, find your "Kelly". A trusted friend, mentor, business adviser or colleague who keeps you showing up, even on the days you don't feel like it.

Because business is a whole lot easier when you're not doing it alone. 💙

COMMUNITY - RSA ❤️

Community isn't just about where we live. It's about the people and organisations that quietly give back, support others, and keep history alive.

The RSA (Returned and Services Association) is one of those organisations.

My grandad was a proud member of the Mt Maunganui RSA for many years after serving our country and surviving as a prisoner of war. As a child, I never fully appreciated what that meant. As I've grown older, I've come to understand just how important organisations like the RSA are in honouring those stories and supporting our veterans.

That's why I love seeing our local community get behind initiatives like this.

Local artist Carole Hughes has generously commissioned two beautiful paintings of Le Quesnoy, with proceeds from one going to the Cambridge RSA. ❤️ What a wonderful way to use creativity to give something back.

If you've been thinking about adding a special piece of artwork to your home, this could be the perfect opportunity to do so while supporting an organisation that has given so much to our community.

🖼️ The silent auction closes at 5.00pm on Friday 7 August.
📧 To place a bid, email [email protected].
The RSA will let you know if you're the successful bidder—or if you'd like the opportunity to increase your bid to secure one of these stunning paintings.

Sometimes community is as simple as supporting people who spend their lives supporting others. 💙

CREATIVITY

Creativity comes in many forms... and recently I discovered a whole new one at the Star Wars LEGO® Exhibition in Wellington.

As I wandered around, I realised there were two kinds of people there - those who absolutely love LEGO, and those who know absolutely everything about Star Wars. I quickly discovered I'm probably neither!

LEGO reminds me of vacuuming up tiny bricks and never being able to build anything without the instruction booklet. And Star Wars? I remember seeing the very first movie back in 1977... which probably says more about my age than my movie knowledge!

What really impressed me was the patience and creativity behind every display. The thousands of pieces, the incredible detail, and the countless hours that must have gone into building them.

My favourite? The Death Star... complete with Stormtroopers relaxing in a spa pool, complete with pink bellies but still wearing their helmets. That one gave me a giggle!

It reminded me that creativity doesn't always come with a paintbrush or a computer. Sometimes it's hidden in thousands of tiny LEGO bricks, a great imagination, and a whole lot of patience.
