Big news! We’re proud to announce that Contented has raised a $4.1M seed round.

This round was led by Altered Capital, with backing from K1W1, , Aspire NZ Seed Fund, .ventures , Capital, and Exhort Ventures.

In one year we’ve gone from a handful of customers to over 200 globally, reaching $1.4M in recurring revenue (entirely bootstrapped). A team of three and a half people, powered by customers who didn’t just use the product but championed it, building something that now generates 40,000 documents a month.

This round lets us do what we’ve been doing, but faster.

We’re using it to scale into the UK and Australia, triple our team, invest in our core technology, and build out new integrations and templates across financial services, HR, construction, and government.

To our customers who backed us before anyone else did, and to the supporters who believed in what a small team from Christchurch could build, thank you.

Alright, alright, alright... 🤠

Contented was one of just six companies invited to showcase at the Dimensional Fund Advisors Practice Management Symposium in Austin, Texas.

Lucy and Hannah flew out to speak on the panel about how AI can enhance client experience and contribute to growth.

Five takeaways we brought home:

Pain points are identical everywhere - Auckland, Austin, Sydney - doesn’t matter. Wealth managers are all asking the same question: how do we scale exceptional client experiences without losing quality?

The AI question has changed It’s no longer “should we use AI?” It’s “how do we implement it responsibly?” The panel with Ian J. Karnell showed genuine appetite for AI that enhances advisors, not replaces them.

The Kiwi accent sounds British - we got “Are you from the UK?” at least three times. We’re taking it as a compliment

Everything really is bigger (and better) in Texas Especially the hospitality. From T-Rex dinners at the Natural History Museum to Italian dinners with COOs of wealth firms at Juliet’s - Dimensional knows how to make you feel welcome. Huge thanks to Livia Ramirez and the entire team.

The relationships are what matter Connecting with Catherine J., Shreya, Sarah Robertson, Stephen de Man, and Mark Gochnour reminded us that the best part of this work is the people. Many of these conversations will stay with us!

One million minutes captured🎙️

We reached this milestone shortly after launching our iOS app last year! It’s a nice number. But the real story is what those minutes contain.

A wealth manager finally hearing what their client actually meant when they said they want a “comfortable retirement.” Not the number, but the true worries behind it.

An engineer’s site meeting where three comments prevented a costly mistake.

A five-hour board meeting in Auckland where critical decisions shaped a company’s future.

A son recording his grandfather’s WWII stories on a Sunday afternoon.
Every recording in Contented represents a moment someone decided was worth preserving.

Client meetings where details make the difference. Strategic sessions where ideas emerge fast and memories fade faster. This year, we’re sharing more of these stories. Not just the metrics. Not the technology, but what it actually changes for people.

But as we scale, what matters most hasn’t changed. It’s not the platforms we’re on or the minutes we’re tracking.

Over 1000 people gathered to shape healthcare’s future at Digital Health Week NZ 2025 in Christchurch. We partnered with Health Informatics New Zealand (HiNZ) to create their post-conference report.

Contented captured presentation summaries across the entire conference. Preserving the knowledge, insights and innovation that would normally vanish into thin air.

Here’s the thing about conferences: incredible insights emerge across keynote presentations, panels and breakout sessions - but so much disappears once everyone leaves the venue. Attendees forget key takeaways, individuals who missed sessions can’t catch up and that initial momentum just fades away (so making these ideas accessible matters).
