We know you're busy, so let's not waste any time; here's an outline of exactly what we'll need from you to conduct a systems review to identify and address the security risks in your business:

We'll sit down for a one hour meeting with you, the owner, or a member of the senior leadership team. It's important that the person we meet with has access to your business systems.

Ideally, but only if you're happy for us to do so, we'll take a look at one of your computers. This is to assess the configuration of your Microsoft account and give us a better understanding of how your team works.

Then, we'll take a look around your site. This is to confirm your physical networking and services.

That's it.

After this meeting, we'll go away and our engineers will prepare your review within a few days.

What is a systems review?

Conducted by one of our engineers, a systems review is a 92-point checklist that covers your policies, security, service, business apps, backups, and more.

Basically, it's an in-depth look at your business systems, with an analysis that highlights any problem areas and provides a clear roadmap to minimise risks within your organisation.

Recommended actions are categorised into critical, high, medium, and low. To protect your company, critical issues should be dealt with ASAP, or within the next three months. Short term issues should be addressed within six months. And medium term issues are those that we recommend addressing within 12+ months.

Is AI uptake impacting the cost of IT hardware?

In short, yes. The cost of doing business is on the rise, and AI uptake is a contributing factor. With the price of manufacturing and components soaring, plus demand increasing as businesses adopt new AI technologies, tech prices are anticipated to spike.

Thinking of replacing a laptop or server?

Unfortunately, we expect costs to continue to rise. So, if you're anticipating needing to replace a laptop or a server in the foreseeable future, we encourage you to do it as soon as you can.

We can help you find the right hardware for your needs, ask us for more info.

I get asked sometimes why an IT company would work predominantly with medical practices, law firms, and insurance brokers.

The honest answer starts in Austria.
I studied IT and business in English - unusual when your first language is German. While I was studying nursing I spent three years as a volunteer paramedic.
One of my placements was at a dementia unit running on the principles of nonviolent communication. They were the only unit operating that way in Austria, and one of the only ones in mainland Europe. I didn't fully understand at the time how much that placement would shape how I think about people under pressure.

After finishing my nursing diploma I left.

Worked as an au pair in Mexico, teaching a three-year-old German and English.

Travelled Central and South America for a year. Met my wife somewhere along the way. In 2015 we moved to her home country - New Zealand.

In Christchurch I eventually ended up at the Cancer Society, supporting patients who had just been diagnosed with cancer. I was the youngest person there and the only man, so I looked after younger patients mostly. Support groups, one-on-one conversations, office in town and once a week at the hospital.

Then I got seconded into an IT project. They needed a CRM implemented across multiple locations. They picked me because of the clinical and IT combination. That was the moment I understood what that combination could actually do.

Personal phones are being banned in Australian preschools and we think it's time that all businesses took cyber security more seriously.

The South Australian and Victorian state governments are among the first to move to ban mobile phones and other devices capable of taking photos or videos, to protect the safety of children in preschools.

We see first-hand the damage that data breaches can do do to a business, and to the people who's data has been exposed and we're here to help protect your business from cyber threats.

Shoutout to Ethan from Gerrards for the great Google review!

Moving offices can be a bit of a circus, so we love to hear that David made it smooth and that the team’s noticed the difference too.

That’s what we aim for: managed IT services that are truly responsive, plus the behind-the-scenes setup and support you need, so you and your team can get on with what you do best, without thinking about your IT.

P.S. we love your new office space, Gerrards Insurance Brokers!

We take our work very seriously. But we don't take ourselves seriously. This is the "added bonus" you didn't ask for 😅

Daniel doesn't like to talk about himself. But his experience is why ITstuffed is what it is today; an IT service provider trusted by Kiwi businesses who need their systems to work quickly and effectively.
..but we're also the kind of provider that likes meetings at the local pub, celebratory lunches when your business reaches a big milestone, and laughs over coffees.

We're not some faceless business where you'll never know who's on the other line, we're locals who want to see your business stay safe and successful, and we want that experience to be fun for you!
