We have an unplanned Network Outage

We need to reboot the internet, which will cause a small outage of 15mins..…. this even includes our own internet connection 🙃

Heads up, we have an urgent planned network maintenance that will be taking place overnight tonight

Maintenance Window

Start: ---- Shortly after 12:00 am tonight
Expected Completion: --- By 3:00 am

Following major network infrastructure upgrades completed last week, our Engineering team has identified several issues that require additional maintenance to fully resolve. While these types of issues are uncommon, they can occasionally occur after significant upgrades to complex network infrastructure.

To complete the remediation and ensure the ongoing stability and reliability of our network, further maintenance has been scheduled during the early hours of tomorrow morning.

During this period, you may experience one or more brief interruptions to your internet service while work is completed.

Our Engineering team will be implementing permanent fixes and additional improvements designed to resolve the identified issues and further strengthen the resilience of the network.

We appreciate that any outage is inconvenient and sincerely apologize for the disruption. Scheduling this work overnight allows us to minimize the impact while ensuring the network is fully restored and operating reliably by the morning.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete this important work.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the severe weather across parts of the South Island. The safety of our customers, communities, emergency responders and the crews working tirelessly to restore essential services remains our highest priority.

We are pleased to advise that Ultimate Broadband's network and infrastructure remain fully operational and have not been impacted by this weather event. Our network continues to perform strongly, and our team is actively monitoring conditions while standing ready to support our customers and communities wherever we can.

As an additional resilience measure, One NZ has activated SpaceX Direct-to-Cell emergency coverage for approximately the next 24 hours. Customers with eligible Ultimate Mobile plans may be able to access this service where supported, providing an additional layer of communication while restoration efforts continue.

While we hope events like this are short lived, they are a timely reminder of the importance of resilient connectivity. At Ultimate Broadband, we don't just provide internet we help homes, farms and businesses stay connected when it matters most.
